We just adopted our 1st Elf on a Shelf! We love her! I have researched the web looking for ideas on how to display her. I was wondering if you all had any new and creative ideas.

Thanks in advance!

This is a blog entry with 101 ideas:

Then this is one mom blogger's response, which is personally more in line with my way of thinking, and which I found hilarious:

Personally, I enjoy the pics that include a Barbie doll as a pole dancer/stripper and the elf watching and holding a dollar bill.

There are so many creative ideas out there. This year, I have seen friends do the following:

1. Put the elf next to a candy bowl and spell "be good" in either green or red m&m's.

2. Have the elf sit with some stuffed animals/dolls etc with a deck of UNO cards so it looks like the elf was playing games during the night.

3. Snowglobe elf: put the elf in a pampered chef mixer bowl with lid tipped upside down. Put shredded coconut in as the "snow".

4. Our elf hung out in the toy doll stroller with a baby bottle (my youngest got a huge kick out of this!)

So far we haven't done anything ultra creative b/c I haven't had the time. But my kids have LOVED looking for the elf each morning. Every day they excitedly tell us where she is.

A friend has posted pictures of her elf ziplining through the kitchen on Christmas ribbon, sleeping in a box of tissues with tissue pillow and tissue blanket, spelled out Be Good in red and green M&Ms, plus a host of others - all cute. I think she got some ideas from Pinterest.

One of the most hilarious things I've seen is the Creepy Elf blog:

We love our elf too! But, I have to tell you, from Thanksgiving til Christmas is a LONG time!! Last year the Elf came a week or so before Xmas, and it was fun, and this year He came at Thanksgiving, and it seems SO long!! I haven't done anything crazy yet, I thought I would get more creative a week before Xmas, and say "Elf must be getting excited it's almost Christmas!!" and get more creative with him. Last year a couple of days before Xmas, he was in the fridge and the milk turned PINK! There was just a little milk left in the gallon and I put a some red food coloring, I almost used too much, so be careful if you do this. Also I heard of "snow angels" I didn't do it last year, but want to this year, basically use flour on the counter and leave the angel impression in it. Otherwise I've been doing simple stuff like the curtain rods, shelves in various areas, stuffed in the xmas tree, right now he's hanging on the back of the bathroom door where we have hooks for bath-robes...and tonight? Um, not sure!!! Good luck and have fun!!

Last year our elf came on December 1st, this year he came after Thanksgiving and brought some friends to help keep an eye on our girls.

Some of the things I've done this year are:

Hid the elves in the Christmas tree
Had the elves hang upside down from different wall decor in the living room
Put the girls sunglasses on the elves
Had a tea party in the playroom
Potato sack races with chip bags
Elves played twister
And one night the elves left a note about the girls not cleaning up their toys & if they didn't get the playroom picked up, the elves were going to take their toys to Santa to give to kids who would take care of them----harsh? it worked! LOL!

Last year some of the ideas I used:
Elf spelled the girls names with toothpaste in the bathroom sink
Hid in the freezer
Brought cookie cutters for the girls to make Christmas cookies
Toilet papered the tree
Got tangled up in the Christmas wrapping paper & ribbon

It's a lot of fun! There are tons of ideas on pinterest if you are needing more ideas.
