Easter Morning

For those of you who still get a visit from the Easter Bunny: What does he bring? Just the goodies for your basket? Just hide the eggs? Or both? I'm not sure we'll have time to do an egg hunt before church in the morning, but that's because she (hopefully) won't be waking up extra early with anticipation and will probably be relatively slow going through her basket (I remember it taking like 2 minutes, tops, for us growing up). What do you do Easter morning, if you celebrate?

The Easter Bunny will hide Easter Eggs, I am thinking this year they are going to be filled with quarters since the granparents always bring a basket full of candy. Plus they are doing an egg-hunt the day before. And the last thing I need while everyone else is at work and school is to be stuck home alone with a ton of candy. I have no will-power.

The easter bunny brings a basket for each kid (and mom and dad too!!) with nuts, candy and toys in it...NO eggs...they are hidden in the house! So the kids wake up, find their baskets (they are always on the couch) and go thru their stuff. Then they take their empty baskets and run around to find the hidden eggs. We don't reuse the baskets, I usually donate them to Goodwill. Sometimes the easter bunny brings pre-made baskets, sometimes homemade. Depends on how busy the bunny is and how crafty he is feeling that year! :o)

We did summer/warm outside toys in our baskets. The Easter Bunny comes while we are at church since he has so many eggs to hide. This way we are not rushed before church in the morning.

Baskets are on the kitchen table when they wake up. Egg hunt is after church. The tricky part is the pat down before we go to church to be sure they arent carrying any candy or toys into church with them!

We have a basket of non-candy goodies (usually stuff for summer: bubbles, new sunglass, hat, etc) and the Easter Bunny hides little chocolates around the livingroom in little plastic eggs that the girls get to 'hunt'.

When I was younger, my sister and I would spend the day hiding and re-hiding the eggs we'd coloured the day before. It was so much fun....I hope my girls do that too :o)

Easter bunny fills the baskets and hides them. This year they will each have an umbrella and a couple outside toys (small things - chalk, bubbles).

Then after breakfast we have an outside egg hunt with dyed eggs. The kids know we hide those for them. Hopefully our weather will cooperate.

Later in the day we have dinner with my in-laws.

My husband and I are not church people so that is not part of our celebration - we celebrate spring at home rather than the Christian holiday... we save that part of the day for the in-laws.

The Easter Bunny leaves a trail of eggs from my kids bedrooms down the stairs leading up to their baskets!! The kids love this!! I always have goodies and a few little toys for them in their baskets and then we always do a big egg hunt after church!

Our tradition was a trail of jelly beans, leading from each child's bed to their basket!
We had egg hunts through the church or community center (not always on Easter.)
Favorite goodies included art supplies (crayons, play dough, water colors, etc.) and summer stuff (sidewalk chalk, swimsuits, water guns, etc.) and of course a few treats :)

Wow there are some good ideas...im a newbee to this one since my kids is only 2.5 and this will be her first real Easter (we bagged it in previous years)
I have 2 baskets for her...One is for the morning before church that has goldfish, new toys (coloring book, crayons) and a couple of candy....things she can bring to church with her without being a super hyper kid eating all the jelly beans
After church, we are coming home and it will be her naptime....so while she is napping I plan on hiding the eggs (hopefully outside IF its not raining)
when she wakes up, I am going to let her find the easter bunny eggs, and for each REAL egg, she will get a plastic one filled with various things (money, candy...maybe a treat for the dog ha ha) and then she will get her Koom Bah Ya basket that has her new swimsuit, towel, kite and pillow pet after the egg hunt..hopefully by then dinner will be ready. :):)
im excited

our daughter wakes up very early, so we have always hidden her easter basket (and now brother's as well) and we have a scavenger hunt to find it. The Easter bunny leaves clues and grass droppings wherever he has been. Then I make bunny cakes (bunny shapped pancakes) and decorate them while the kids go through their baskets and get ready. Then off to church.

Egg hunt is saved for Grammy's house in the evening.

Our Easter Bunny hides the baskets and the eggs. Also, we leave a paper towel by the door at night and magically there are bunny paw prints (we put our fingers in dirt to make the prints) on it in the morning. :)

Just the baskets here.
And we try to minimize the actual candy.
