What do you put into your kids' Easter baskets?

What kind of toys or trinkets do you get ( for boys & girls)?

Trying to get some new ideas.

So far I have a movie, some gum (one a day, will last him a month), a skittles bank, a light-up toothbrush, and I will likely toss in from my 'stash' of rewards - a Spiderman book from the $1 store, a squishy ball, a puzzle. Maybe a small bag/box of goldfish crackers or animal cookies, maybe an egg with $1 in it. Maybe a coloring book. If I hadn't already bought one and given it to him, I'd include a bug net. He loves to go outside and catch bugs!

This is what I typically put in my girls' baskets, and will use some of these ideas this year:

-Candy, but not too much- just a few pieces of their favorite kinds
-Chocolate bunny (white chocolate for my 8-year-old, she loves it)
-Bubbles
-Sidewalk chalk
-Toothbrush
-Flashlight
-Cash or coins inside the eggs
-Jewelry hidden inside the eggs
-Silly putty
-Matchbox cars or trains (my 5-year-old is a tomboy!)
-Squinkies inside eggs
-Coloring books
-Crayons, markers
-Batteries
-Stickers
-Suncatchers & paint
-Music CDs
-DVDs
-iTunes gift card
-other gift cards
-small bible
-books
-bookmarks
-beads & elastic to make jewelry
-Body spray or lotions (small bottles)
-nail polish & nail decorations
-hair bows & hair ties
-chapstick (lipsmackers)
-erasers
-snacks like golfish, trail mix, fruit snacks
-flower seeds, small flower pots
-small spade to plant flowers
-swim suit
-beach towel
-flip flops
-sunglasses
-sun hat
-summer dress
-umbrella
-temporary tattoos
-shovel & bucket
-stuffed animals
-puzzles

And, if you are Christian, remind the Easter Bunny to remind your kids about the true meaning of Easter!

Hope that helps!

My kids are older, 16 (spec needs), 12 and 9. This year, the EB is bringing them a portable desk set so they can draw easily in the car/couch. I have very crafty kids and these were originally $25 ea (which I would never pay!) but I found them on clearance for $9 ea...yippee!!! They will also each get a DS game and a choc bunny. There will be plastic eggs hidden in the house with money inside. And we are Christian so we go to church to celebrate the *true* meaning of Easter. =)

I want to still do some candy, but I don't want too much in there this year. Despite what we say every year, my MIL AND my dad bring the boys Easter candy on top of what they get from the bunny! I always put in some bubbles and toy cars and that type of thing, but this year I'm going to put a Transformer toy the youngest wants and a Lego superhero toy the oldest wants in their baskets. They're also both really into their piggy banks, so I'm going to do more plastic eggs with quarters, nickels and dimes in them. The youngest needs some new sunglasses, so he'll get those and maybe a Scooby Doo swimsuit he wants. The oldest will probably get a few books in his. I think the Bunny will also be leaving the Muppet Movie on DVD between the two!

The easter bunny usually brings a swimsuit and flip flops. Then a hollow chocolate egg with their name, filled with candies. (other fun candies and hairthings, tiny summer items etc...)

I'm slacking this year, but I think I'm going to get my girls (6 and 4) one of those moxi mermaid girls they can use in the bath or pool. Then probably just a little candy.

Instead of a lot of candy, I usually try to include other kinds of snacks my daughter likes. Such as goldfish & fruit snacks. For the candy I usually buy a few different kinds and only put a few pieces in her basket - I put the rest away somewhere else! LOL

I'm not even sure what I'm going to get her this year. She wants more dinosaur temporary tattoos so I may get those!

I don't go crazy with the Easter baskets. I usually get a stuffed animal (for my oldest usually a webkinz and last year did Max and Ruby for my youngest), some bubbles, sidewalk chalk, coloring book, maybe a $5 dvd, and some candy. The Easter bunny always leaves a note thanking them for the carrot and reminds them of the true meaning of Easter. Since we are Christian, this is important for me. He also includes the # of eggs hidden so that mom and dad don't find a smelly rotten one that wasn't found later. Lol. This happened when I was a kid and we found it a week later inside a shoe, lol.
