Duck Themed Christening

Ladies-

I've decided to go for a duck theme to baby's christening party. He'll be 9 months old at the time, and it will be in a restaurant with 30 or so guests with a fixed family style menu. I've bought rubber ducky candles for favors.

The ceremony and party will take place in June.

Given the restaurant setting, I can't go to town, but I can do balloons, flowers, a cake, and toys for the handful of kids ages 1-11 who will be attending.

Any good ideas?
Also any suggestions for games/ quiet entertainment for the children to keep them occupied? Can I get toys like the ones you see at a cracker barrel at reasonable prices online? Are there any duck toys/ games?
Any suggestions on what to do with the cake or where to get it from?

What can I do next?

I went to a wedding once where they gave the children little tote bags with coloring books and crayons at the reception. They also had some other little doo dads in there, but I don't remember anymore. Anyway, it seemed to keep them occupied and happy.

I have been to a lot of christenings and have never seen one with any theme other than the religious one . I am not at all opposed to a little bag of stuff for the children to keep them occupied but think duck stuff with balloons etc smacks of birthday party. not at all the same as a christening. you can get religous coloring books and story books at the dollar store. the cake you can order from any bakery and should have a cross or some other religious sybol on it. the duck thing just sounds tacky to me sorry.

do you have a private room in the restaurant? If you do and you are looking for actual "games" you can do duck-duck-goose and hot potato but using a rubber duck. Otherwise I would say coloring pages that are duck themed (print for free off the internet) and duck stickers. I am sure that if you ask any store that does cakes about a duck themed one they will have some photos to show you.
