Dryer Vent Cleaning Kit

Has anyone ever tried one of those dryer vent cleaning kits? There's one that was advertised on tv that got bad reviews but there is one at Lowes that looks like it would work well. I haven't seen any reviews on it though. You connect to your vacuum. Our vent is kind of long and hidden so trying to get to it would be very difficult to just take apart

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hmmmm...leaf blower you say? I may try that! We also just got a canister vac that can be reversed so may also work well. If I do put something in there it has to be flexible as I know there are several bends.

Our dryer vent is very long also. I hire a local company to come and do it once a year, they do duct cleaning and have all the necessary equipment. It only costs around $50.

I usually take online reviews with a grain of salt... I know that I usually only bother to write one if I am seriously passed off by the product, and I imagine I'm not the only one...

When I was younger, my dad just taped a cut off water hose to the vacuum, and used that.it worked pretty well. I imagine anything made to do the job would work even better! Lol.

I have two dryer cleaning kits. The Lint Lizard, which I love! The hose is a little hard to use (not flexible) but it really gets down to the hard to reach areas. Dryer Max Lint Removal Kit has a flat hose, which is ok, but you have to duct tape it to your shot vac. I like the brushes to clean the vents out of the house (I use the big brush to clean out my gutters!!!)

Meh... what do you know about your dryer vent?

Mine has a curve just beyond the wall and then is a straight shot out to the side of the house. I use a flexible lint brush (for dryers) to clean out below the lint trap (which gets cleaned after EVERY load), and then I take the extension light hanging pole (you know, for Xmas lights..) and attach a lint grabber to the end and use that from the outside to clean the long length.

About once a year, I have husband disconnect the dryer from the wall and just stick the leaf blower to the opening and blow the rest out.

Works for me.
