I was wondering does anyone have extremely dry feet? Its very annoying to me. I've tried so many different things. If you had or have this same experience I would like to know what you used or presently using.

Thanks a whole lot for any advice,
G. M.

i have this problem with my feet, ankles, and elbows (sometimes hands) and only just within the past couple of months (maybe 6). i tried just about everything, even a skin "grater" and nothing. my dr. prescribed me a steroid type of cream to use 2 times a day until the tube is gone. she also told me to continue to moisten throughout the day with the THICKEST lotions i can find...so far it's this cvs cream for extremely dry skin (comes in a 'tub') and the bath and body works that's made specifically for feet and extremely dry skin. it's starting to make things a bit better then it was, still hasn't stopped, but definitely better. hope you find something. let me know what works. :o)

Hi!

Since my son was born, my feet have become increasingly dry, to the point this winter when the top layer of skin on my heels began cracking and I could peel it off (ew, gross, I know). My problem seemed to be my general negligence, and so once I removed the worst parts and forced myself into a ritual of applying any kind of moisturizer once I dried my feet after a shower, they improved dramatically. It sounds like you're already on the case, so I'm not sure if this is at all helpful, but I just wanted to chime in, just in case you're not yet applying a product when your feet are still holding water.

Good luck!

I found that using that little 'grater' daily to exfoliate and get rid of the extra dry skin. Also using St Ives Vitamin E Advance Therapy lotion helped. Use often all day. The most important thing is to treat from inside out. Lots of water keeps the skin hydrated. I also make sure I am getting the essential oils in my diet. Olive oil on my salad and for tea at nights, a teaspoon in a cup of lemon juice and hot water. If you can add a little cayenne pepper. Good for the gastro intestines and the oil shines through. That is what I do so this is not medical advise.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment by Eucerin is great, it is a bit greasy but it works. Glop it on then put socks on over the top. Also like others have suggested use a pumice stone whenever you shower. I put an exfoliator on the stone. The Body Shop has a good one with many scents to choose from it has a lot of oil in it to keep from drying out the skin and I prefer the synthetic pumice like they use in nail salons seems to work better.

Wear socks and shoes (preferably shoes that tie/sneakers) from the minute you get up until the last minute before you go to sleep. Stop going barefoot at all for 3 weeks, and see the difference. Lotioning (any) right before bed doesn't hurt.

I agree with the good oils in your diet. When u have a salad, add olive oil. When you cook, use olive oil. Try a fish oil supplement 1x day (it's good for a lot of things, not side effects). Or try a tablespoon a day of flax seed oil.

There are a ton of products on the market, but u prob. have everything at home to help this problem. Soak your feet in epson salt. When ur feet are in the water, scrub with salt or sugar, to exfoliate. Out of the water, use a pumice stone to get rid of the old dry skin. Make sure between the toes are dry so u don't get fungus, use argo cornstarch (yes the one you cook with) it has no irritating or allergic agents, and it's feels soft and smooth. The bottom of yr feet shud be a little damp, and use good ol' fashion vaseline (get the generic brand from the dollar store) and lop it all over your feet, white cotton socks for overnight and in the a.m., you'll see the difference after just that one time.

Even if that is too consuming, do it 1x, u'll notice a difference and when u don't have time for the whole kit and kaboodle, do the vaseline and socks every night and it will eventually subside and be gone!

Hello G., I've had extremely dry feet before and I agree it is annoying. I found a cream/lotion at a local wal-mart called blu goo. I'm not sure I spelled it correctly, but I can tell you
it is made from Emu oil. It's all natural and works great. I would use a pumice stone/file, after a shower then apply the lotion and be good to go. It works great I used it when my feet would crack, it clears them up and helps to sooth them. I work in retail, so I'm on my feet a lot. I've also been told extremely dry skin is due to a lack of zinc in your system, weather it is true or not I don't know. I hope this helps, good luck.

I know received a million responses, however, I had the worse dry feet and now they're baby soft! I used (and still use) 100% coconut oil. You can exfoliate after soaking in warm water too but I mostly put it on in the morning, slip socks on over my feet and put some on again at night. This only took like 2 weeks! Good luck to ya.

Over the last few months I've been using "Microplane 4-piece Remove, Smooth, and Hydrate Foot Care Set" from QVC. Different from other foot systems, the buffer is not disposable, you just change the piece. Only warning is to be carfeful not to use a lot of pressure when planing the skin. What's really good about this system is the foot cream. It's called dreamsicle and smells like a creamsicle! They suggest using the foot cream more often if your feet are very dry. Another thought is to use the cream at night and put on thin cotton socks before going to sleep.

Hi G.- while I don't have the problem now, I did at one point, I believe either during or just after pregnancy or nursing or something motherly (aren't all the weird, embarrassing ailments we moms have directly attributed to our bearing or sustaining of our beloved tots? :) My kids are big now, 13 and 15. Anyway, my mom taught me this trick: just before bedtime, slather on GOBS of thick, good ointment (like aquaphor, nivea, even balmex) - I mean it, tons. Then put on lightweight (lest your feet get so hot it wakes you up) cotton short socks, like the bootie kind, and sleep with them on. Do this for a week or more and your feet will be silky smooth. I do the same with my hands - vitamin E oil on the cuticles, tons of nivea (in the jar, just like balmex), and put on cheap drugstore cotton gloves, and sleep with them all night. My hands are really, really soft now (just did it last night in fact!).
Good luck!

what REALLY works for me, better than anything else is a PEDICURE, it really seems to do the trick,

BUT since we can't always do that, they sell the razor like foot shaver in Walmart for 3 dollars,
before i get out of the shower I sit on the edge and then shave my heals and feet myself, then use a pumice stone to rubb off the dry skin, dry them off lotion them up with some shea butter or peppermint cream ( also sold at walmart for no more than 3 bucks) and lotion them up heavily
and stick them into some LOTION SOCKS SOlD at walmart, OR in the beauty shops( basically they are socks with lotion in them but any nylon ish type sock will do they will be feeling like new ,

The best thing I have used is called Bag Balm. It comes in a square green tin that you find at Walmart in the pet section since it is typically for cow's utters. After using it for a few days you will see a difference plus I always use the foot file in the shower each morning to work on some callouses. It does have a yellow look to it so make sure if you use a lot to really moisturize to have socks on that can get stained. Some of my white socks have shown some staining although it is only when I use a lot of product. I have used vasline before and bag balm has the same texture however works much better.

I've had that problem for a long time because I take alot of meds but I recently tried scraping my feet with a minty soap (to soothe your feet or regular soap) and a stone and rub them every night while in the shower or bathing then use the Gold Bond feet cream (works wonders for me) and put on some socks. Put the gold bond cream in the mornings too!

Good Luck, it worked for me.

Hi G.,

Here's a good one - Bath and Body Works makes a cream called "Lay It On Thick". It does wonders for dry feet, hands, you name it. I swear by the stuff all Winter long.

Good luck!

Hi G.
This has been an off/on problem. When it gets really bad I slather any very rich cream on my feet and sleep with socks. Do this as often as possible until you see an improvement. Body Butter or foot cream by Bliss is great...I believe Sephora sells it. Also, apply foot cream after every shower.
Hope the condition improves!!

Hi G.,
My legs and feet used to be what I called "alligator skin." I am using a lotion that prevents and relieves chronic and severe dry skin. It is called Renew. I would be glad to send you a sample. Check out my web page: www.LiveTotalWellness.com/L.
Until then be sure to not use HOT water when washing your feet....hot water takes the natural oils out of your skin.

I have found that the footworks line from Avon is fantastic. They have an 8 hr overnight moisture cream to use at night with socks. You can check out the entire line at www.youravon.com/mgold. Good Luck, I hope one of the suggestions work.

Good Morining G.,

Give yourself a good pedicure. Soak your feet in a nice peppermint foot wash. Peppermint is good for your feet. Then use petroleum Jelly all over your feet, and then put on a pair of sweat socks. Repeat at nitghtime. Within a week you'll have nice soft feet.

Me too! I use goldbond lotion, and I would recommend having them dip in wax, they do this at the nail salons or spas, but you can purchase your own (much better) and use it once a week, you dip your feet and hands, and they will become so soft you won't believe it.

Hi G.,

I would also reccommend Arbonne's intelligence line - herbal foot cream. I also use the FYI (for young individuals) body butter which smells great! I slather it on at night and keep a pair of socks on, it has really helped my heels.
The main thing that seperates Arbonne from all the other (over-the-counter etc..) products out there is that it does Not contain mineral oil (petroleum) which does nothing beneficial for your skin. It will not penetrate and actually creates a barrier not allowing your skin to "breathe." There was evena study conducted by Johns Hopkins University that points mineral oil as the 2nd leading cause of anti-aging (wrinkles) second to the sun!
You can feel content with Arbonne knowing you are usually totally pure, safe, and beneficial products for your body.

I also have the same condition, I use something similar to the ped egg to remove the build up of dry skin, followed by organic shea butter cream and/or a product called Allpresan, that I purchased at the Medi Spa Expo. It is made by Neubourg Skin Care, out of Toronto, ON, Canada.

Vitamin E lotion. It really seems to make a difference! It is inexpensive, and not greasy. My husband has the dryest knees and feet and he swears by the vitamin E lotion. Good luck!

I understand what you are going through! My feet were so dry that they were yellow and cracked all around the heels. No one ever saw my bare feet. They were so embarrassing that I would wear water shoes, even in the pool. I have found that using a ceramic foot file once a week in the shower to get the dead skin off, using Renew Cream on my feet every night, and sleeping with socks on, has eliminated my embarassing feet. I felt like I would never be one of those women that had nice feet, or got a pedicure. I am proud to say that I wore strappy sandals to my daughter's communion last year! My whole family was shocked! I no longer need to use the ceramic file weekly, just every once in a while for touch ups if needed. That best thing is that I now share my experiences with others and help them get rid of their embarassing issues and it is so rewarding to help so many others the way I have been helped. If you need more information on Renew Cream, please contact me at ____@____.com Luck!
