...was this the most boring season to date? And was the finale the most boring episode ever?

I just finished watching the last episode of this season and all I can say is "bleh". If next season is anything like this season, I probably won't watch. Too bad - it was so exciting up to this point!
It jumped the shark for me last season. I watched the first couple of this season (after it aired) and found it pretty predictable and boring. I'm done.
I have fallen in love with Tom. I think he has a thing for Mary. I guess every man in Yorkshire has fallen for Mary. Hoping the new season does not bring more pain to Anna and Bates. I love it. I'm never bored as I consider the hour well spent with one good line from Maggie Smith.
i'm only watching as netflix allows, so am still a season or two (three?) back! so obsessively not looking at answers in case of spoilers, but still couldn't resist chiming in on this one!
i'm so bummed to hear that it loses its appeal. of course, very few series can keep it up season after season, can they? i just ordered season 3 of game of thrones, which my kids report is pretty meh after the first 2.
but the dh and i love us some downton abbey.
