Double Strollers Recommendation

I have a 3 years old and a 1 year old. I've tried 2 double strollers - A sit and stand and a Graco DuoGlider. I've gotten rid of both and since been just using the regular stroller for the older one, while I've been carrying the younger in a sling. It's worked great until now, the baby has places he wants to be, and doesn't really want to be in a sling anymore...

I'd like any recommendations on a double stroller! The only thing is that I can't get anything huge. We have a Honda Accord and the new stroller has to fit in the trunk of the car. I know that narrows it down quite a bit, but I'd love to hear what your experiences have been with a double stroller... I also love going for walks, so I'm looking for something that is easy to maneuver and go over bumps easily. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I just got the Baby Trend Sit 'n Stand Double Stroller - Sonic. This one is great because it has an actual seat in the back for the older (or younger one) but once the older one is ready to start walking more then the back seat comes out & there is the standing platform. It is also lighter than the DuoGlider. Hope this helps.

We have both the Bob Revolution single and the Bob Revolution Duallie. LOVE THEM! They roll over EVERTYHING! We have a Toyota Camry and both strollers fit in the trunk. We just have to remove the wheels on the Duallie to make it fit. But the wheels come off easily.

My kids are 5 and 3 and we have mostly been using the single for the last 2 years. When my kids were 3 and 1 we would put my 1 yo in the seat and then put on 3 yo on the foot rest. The love riding like that.

Love the swivel wheel and the easy pushing and manuverability of the strollers. We have taken them both to amusement parks, camping, walking, flat trails, to the beach (it rolls over sand pretty easily), and to the mall. I used them both as my everyday stroller. We have used the single stroller the longest (1 year with just my son, and now 2 years with both kids either taking turns in it or riding it piggy back style). We used our Duallie for about 1.5 years until my daughter was about 1 years old.

REI.com has a 25% off plus free shipping sale on the Bob strollers on Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends. You can free ship it to your local store and they will set it up for you.

I also highly recommend spending the extra buck for the handlebar console for keys and drinks.

Also try craigslist for used ones for cheap...but if you see one on there, you need to act fast since they sell FAST!

Also the resale value for Bobs is pretty good. You can resale it for about 50 to 75% of the original purchase price.

We purchased the DuoGlider when our daughter was born. We've had no problems getting it into various trunks (my husband and I both have company cars, so we rotate makes/models frequently).

I'd recommend not getting a side-by-side if you're planning on using it in stores. They can be hard to maneuver around tight spaces. We went to Babies-R-Us before our daughter was born and literally tried everything there before deciding on the DuoGlider.

It's not perfect. it can be hard to turn when there's a lot of weight in it - almost impossible with 1 hand. But, it's traveled well and has lots of storage space if you do take it shopping.

Our son (21 months when his sister was born) wanted NOTHING to do with a sit and stand stroller. I now wish we'd gotten one as he tires quickly when we're out too long.

We have the Peg Perego Aria Twin and have been very happy with it. Although it is a side by side, we never had trouble going through doors or maneuvering through stores. It should fit in your trunk but you should definitely test it out. Good luck

I have kids about the same spread as yours and have the Peg Perego Aria Twin. Works great for us. Both kids can lie fully down, it's light weight, opens and closes fully, has decent storage underneath and doesn't take up the entire contents of the back of my car.

I too have a smaller sedan, so finding a double stroller that fit in the trunk was a task. We finally settled on the Eddie Bauer Tandem Stroller, because it folds down like an umbrella stroller. Its got the smallest footprint of any double stroller I've seen. I also liked that the back seat can lean all the back, so my youngest could still nap or rest back there. Its obviously not made for "off-roading" but I've never had any problems with anywhere we've gone with it (packed dirt roads and gravel are fine). We still use it occasionally, even though my kids are WAY too big for it (at 5 1/2 and 3 1/2). I think some of the other strollers have nicer bells and whistles (a tray would be nice, but we've been fine without), but if its not going to fit in your car, then its just not going to work! :)

I LOVE my Phil & Ted's Sport double stroller. It's the size of a single with easy maneuverability. I don't think you'll have problems fitting it in your Accord. It is a pretty pricey stroller, but I am so glad I got it. The seats can also switch positions depending on whether you have a newborn or not. Very cool. I can't say enough about how great it is.

Caboose Joovy. It's light weight, easy to push, and won't break the bank. Not sure about fitting in your Accord though. It fits in my Ford Escape with no problem.

I just bought the Phil and Ted Sport with the doubles kit. It's a little on the expensive side, but you might find a used one on Craigslist. I love it!
It collapses easy. The only thing is it that it's a little heavy.
I drive a BMW 3 series and it fits in my trunk, no problem.

I'm no help in that we have a Graco DuoGlider and it has worked well for us. It fit in the back of our Matrix. We now have an SUV but when I get it serviced and get a sedan, it fits in the trunk.

I would recommend going to BabiesRUs and testing them out to see what is the lightest and most comfortable. Once you've narrowed it down, get an associate and let them know you need to see if they fit in the trunk of your car. They will take them outside with you and test fit them in the car so you can know what will work.

Hi, I have a 15-month old, a 2-week old and a 4 year old. I got the BOB Revolution Duallie. It's great. Kinda big, but the other double stroller I had was just as bulky and it was a pain. This is much easier.
