Hello Moms! I am expecting our second child in September and we have a 6 month old son bright now (I know we are crazy!)... I have a question about Double Strollers. Since my son is going to have to be in a stroller when we have the second one I was wondering what the best kind of double stroller would be and one that would probably be able to fit with our graco car seat. I knows its soon but I am just looking around! Thanks!

What can I do next?

I am in the same boat! I have a 28 month old and I am due in April. My husband and I bought a Charoit Cougar duoble jogging/stroller. It has attachments that can change from jogging to stroller and back! It is really easy to move! A lot easier than my single. The only thing is that they recommend for 6 monthes and up. So I am just going to baby wear until then. I have looked a the graco quatro double and even though I loved it! It's pretty heavy for me anyways. So I had to pay more but my double only weighs 10 lbs. If you can afford it I would recommend it.

Im right there with you. My son is 16mos, and Im due the end of March. LOL! My husband and i currently have a B.O.B Revolution which we love, as it is the smoothest ride, and so easy to push and travel with. However when I checked into the Dualle(B.O.B Double Stroller) it is sooooooooooo wide, I couldn't even get it into my house let alone the trunk of my car. I have been doing some extensive research and found that Phil and Teds E3 Explorer(actually now the sport buggy 4, it just came out and has a much higher rating) is the closest Im going to be able to get to what I have, with a tandem stroller rather than one which sits the kids side by side. Almost every stroller out there now has an attachment which you can purchase separately allowing it to work with your carseat, except that Graco strollers will only work with Graco Carseats and I think Peg Perego has the same thing. Double strollers are expensive no matter what. The things to really consider are it's size in Width, as well as how it folds up for storage in your car. How easy is it to fold up and how heavy is it, when you are alone with the kids and doing it by yourself after a long day handling two really little ones... what kind of storage does it have, as your diaper bag is going to be doubly full with snacks, toys and diapers for the older one, and diapers burp rags toys etc for the little one. Does it have a snack tray, (the older one will love this feature later) Warranties, and ease of cleaning. Don't worry though you have time. Check out Baby-Gaga Stroller reviews at

They were really helpful to me, and then I found the strollers I marked off and went to test stroll them.

Mine are 12 mos apart so I can't call you crazy! I tried out so many and read so many reports, advice posts, etc and decided on the Combi Twin. It was very lightweight (18 lbs) compared to most other side-by-sides and all front to back. It was easy to maneuver with one hand, there is full recline for both seats, plenty of storage, and I spend a lot of time in both the city and the suburbs and never had a problem with it fitting in doorways or aisles (it is smaller than a wheelchair width) It is also lightweight so easy to carry and folds very compactly.

The only negative was that I had to balance the graco snugride on it, but for the rare occasion, it was fine. Most of the time, the infant was in the bjorn or could be placed in the seat itself.

It may not fit with your Graco car seat but I LOVE my BOB Revolution double stroller. It is night-and-day compared to my old Graco. You can't believe how easy it is to push and maneuver. I had done a lot of research and found that it was the highest rated stroller. It turns into a jogger with one easy switch, if you need that. It was expensive (around $400) but worth it! I saved some money by buying it on e-bay. Good luck.

just make sure the front wheels turn otherwise it can be very difficult to manuever. Trust me.

Hi K.- I have 4 kids (my 1st 2 were 18 months apart) So I know what oyu are up agianst. Hard to manage at first but it gets much easier!

We had a graco duoglider (It fit our graco baby seat from our original gracp travel system). I loved that stroller. Yes a double is heavy, bulky and a little hard to steer, but it was necessary with the 2 kids so close together. I think all doubles are somewhat bulky but definitely get one that fits the baby's car seat.

I also had the Graco Duo-glider. Actually I still use mine for grocery trips so my 4 year old doesn't have to walk so much. I also got a side by side stroller but I cannot remember who it's made by. I thought that would have been a good replacement for the graco. It folded smaller and was lighter, but it is a far less comfortable ride for the kids. The wheels are smaller so it doesn't absorb the bumps as well. I would definitely recommend the Graco.

I don't have a specific stroller to recommend, but I do recommend one that is front and back rather than side by side. We have one of each and the side by side is a major pain in the butt to get through anywhere- doorways, racks in stores, crowds, you name it. We have the duoglider and it works out pretty well for us.

I just wanted to suggest trying a baby carrier (Bjorn is the most popular, but there are tons that are easier on your back) with your current child and then using it with the new baby so that you can have one in a carrier and one in a stroller (or shopping cart or whatever) and then switch which is carried and which is pushed when you need to. Double strollers are great, but some places they are really hard to manuever or to get through tight spaces so it's nice to have a back-up plan.

I love the phil and teds sport with double kit. It is not cheap but you can save some money if you look on eBay. You should definitely try it out in the store first though. Good luck.

K.-
We are also looking for a double stroller as we have a two year old and are expecting in April. We went this past weekend and looked at the Graco duoglide and the Graco quattro. We really liked the quattro. Both were bulky, however, the quattro seemed to fit our needs and folded up smaller for transport. Babies r us wanted 250.00+ for the quattro......if you don't care that it may be an '07 model, you can find them online for 150.00-160.00 sometimes with shipping included. Also your graco car seat will fit. Good Luck!!!

A lot of the double strollers fit all kinds of carseats. When looking for strollers TRY IT OUT in the store. Look for the least bulky stroller and walk around the store with your child in it.

I have one year old twins and I bought the Zooper Tango-Stlye stroller and I love it. It was a little costly, but worth it. It's a side-by-side stroller, and both the seats fully recline. To many features to mention. You can find it online at Babies R Us-not sold in stores. They have a great return policy if anything ever goes wrong with the product. Good luck. I have a Dodge Durango SLT which doesn't leave a lot of room behind the third seat, but this stroller folds down about 9.5 inches.
