I am looking for somewhere to donate my daughter's clothing. I would like to find a place/family that really needs them. Any ideas would be appreciated since I am new to the area and have only seen a Goodwill around here (which I will give to if that is the best place). thank you!

What can I do next?

Hi D.,

You're about 40 minutes away from me. Not too far from me are a few resale shops called Wings. (The closet one to my house had an electrical fire and burned down last year.) Anyway.... here's the link where you can read more about them and their mission. In a nutshell, their donations of items are sold and the money goes to help families in a crisis.

It's a great feeling to help others out. I'm glad you're going to help others in need. Our world would be so much better if we all looked out for others!

I fill up my car with stuff and drive to Goodwill on Aurora Ave (just east of Fox Valley Mall; east of route 59; on Fort Hill Drive) and Goodwill will unload the bags and boxes from my car and give me tax receipt. I create my own itemized list of what is being donated ahead of time and discard anything with holes in it that is worn out. Goodwill is open seven days a week. Don't donate any hangers (they don't want hangers)...they like to take the clothes in boxes or bags. They have a special driveway just for donations.
