Can anyone recommend a nice kennel that is not completely outrageous in price. We are going on vacation in October and need to board our 2 large dogs. Has anybody used TOPS kennels or Windschants? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
L.

We've loved "Bark-n-Town" in Volo off Rt. 12. Great care and reasonable. Never worried a minute while were were on vacation.

It might be a little out of the way for you, but we LOVE Shel-Ray Pet Shalet just across the border in WI. It's a straight shot up hwy 45 and probably only about 20 minutes from Grayslake. I don't know how their rates compare to TOPS or Windschant, but you can see all that on their website. They love our dogs and I always feel good leaving them there. We've always had giant breed dogs and they're so good with them. The employees are so sweet and really love working with animals. It's worth a look. Our dogs are actually happy to be left there!
Also, wanted to mention, they have all different kinds of rooms - the classic indoor/outdoor run, private rooms where they get taken out three times a day by someone to go potty. You can even put them together so they don't get lonely. And you can always add on extra playtime or walks.
