I am on a babysitting list at my church. Whenever special functions come up that require child care, I get an e-mail to do it. It's not much money, but it's easy work, and I've always been able to take my kids with me if my husband wasn't available. If your kids go to preschool somewhere, you could get put on their substitute list.

I've been able to stay home with my kids for the past 14 years thanks to direct sales businesses - they usually cost very little to start and you can start making money right away.
