Does Anyone Know a Charity in Need of 1-2 Year Old Toys, Stuffed Animals?

In the past I have always been able to look on Craigslist and find someone to donate our old stuff to, like some pregnant women at St. Vincent de Paul for my old Newborn clothing. This time there is nothing listed. I have some small toys and stuffed animals to get rid of and want them to go where needed. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks

Amvets, Salvation Army, and Goodwill are all good places to give to.

Hi J. -

We are expecting our second child in December (a girl!) so I went through all the clothes I'd put away from my son and donated them along with toys to the Women's Resource Center in Oceanside. It's a place that helps families who were in abusive situations and needed to leave their current home situations. There are a lot of mom's and kids that would probably love your daughter's toys. Good luck!

Yeah there is a program in Escondido, Ca called St. Clare's Home. It's a two year program for homeless and abused women. They accept any and all donations because most of the women show up with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. I know because I was there myself and just moved out six months ago into my own apartment. But if it wasn't for all the donations then my son wouldn't of been able to have had all the toys and necessities that he had. The number is ###-###-#### so please call, I know the women there would be so grateful for whatever it is that you are willing to donate.

Thanks,
L.

Good for you!
Please call the San Diego Rescue Mission. I have donated them a variety of things in the past... They are very helpful on the phone and will let you know if what you have is what they need. They are part of Father Joe's charities and help many women and children who need assistance. They do real "good works" here in San Diego.
You may consider donating your used baby gear and clothes too.

Please look at their website www.sdrescue.org
and/or call 1-866-736-4774

Not sure where you are, but in Encinitas there is a great place, Community Resource Center Inc - www.communityresourcecenter.org - ###-###-####.
They will give things to clients who need them, otherwise sell them at the thrift store to raise money for their activities. I believe they run a shelter for moms and kids, so I really like thinking of the kids having nice toys there.
