we really wanted an Acadia also...when i drove it i felt like i was driving a truck more than a SUV...so we drove the Buick Enclave and the Mazda CX-9 as well. we ended up with the CX-9 GT and we love it!

We have an acadia and my husband absolutely loves it. The SUV has a ton a room in it. I have a Town and Country and I'm pretty fond of that to. Howver, it's can't fit 3 boosters in the back like the Acadia can. The only downside of the vehicle, is that trying to park it in a 2 car garage, along with the van, is a really tight fit. The doors are also huge, so you have to watch them when you have little kids opening them when you're out shopping. The only other downside, is that I find the front passenger seat extremely uncomfortable. It's just doesn't fit me right. But as I said, my husband who's over 6 ft tall and has huge shoulders and arms, truly loves it for the hour commute to work. I also have two family members who have the car, and they love it as well.

We bought the Chevy Traverse which is exactly the same car from GM with the Chevy name and body type. I find it very comfortable and easy to get into and out of. We have the second row captains chairs instead of a bench and like it alot. My father in law sat in the back for a shorter trip and was comfortable. We did not get the DVD player but got a lot of the other features and I love it. We drove it to Florida and I was comfortable the whole time! My neighbor also just got one and really like it as well. They got cloth seats instead of leather and added the DVD player after they purchased it at the dealer and they say it works great. So I guess the short answer to your question is YES! I do love my car!!

I just got the Saturn Outlook (pretty much the same thing as the GMC Acadia) about a month ago and LOVE IT!! It has already been so versatile with the 3rd row up, down, and in between! It drives very nice (although I'm still learning how to park a big SUV!). My dad has the Acadia and loves it. He said when it's time to get his next car, he will get another one!

I just have to add that I LOVE my Honda Pilot. It has three rows and seats 8. The very back seat though is pretty tight. But kids fit back there. I've had it for four years now, and not one single problem. I have never had a vehicle that I liked this much and I wish it would run forever. When it finally poops out I'm getting another one.

We have the acadia with captains seats. We got it about a month ago and I really do like it. We considered a minivan at the same time. The only feature that I really did want out of a minivan was the automatic sliding doors. Otherwise, my kids can get in and out on their own and it drives really well. We are going to get the runners(?) so stepping up into it is easier. Oh, and we are going to buy the cordless earphones so they can watch movies without cords going to the back seats.

We bought ours last September, and I love it. I have a 5-year-old and 2-year-old and find it very easy to get them in and out of the car. It also works extremely well to carpool which is one of the main reasons we got it. The captain's chairs in the second row really make it easy for the children to get in. The third room is quite roomy, and my father who is 6'2" has even sat back there comfortably for short rides. Unlike one of the other people who responded, I find the front seats extremely comfortable. We traded in our Acura MDX, and I find this more comfortable. We have taken the car on several long trips (7 hours), and it has been great. The one thing we found is that it is a tight fit into our garage as we have a smaller garage. We measured to make sure it would fit.

I also agree the wireless headphones for the back rows are great. We hadn't planned on buying them, but it was included in the car that we could find at that time. I would definitely get them again.

My one complaint is that you can't program the navigation when the car is in motion unless it is to an already programmed destination. I know this is a safety feature, but it is quite annoying when you are driving down the interstate and want to program something in. There isn't exactly a place to stop at that point to do it.

As for reliability, we just had to take ours in because the CD/DVD player was not working and the controls for the driver's side seat. It will all be covered by warranty, but it is just a little inconvenient to have it in the shop getting fixed.
I highly recommend the car.

We also love our GMC but again we got the S2 package so it's fully loaded. I love ALL the features of the S2 package. I do love the captain chairs which was a must for us since we have 2 car seats and it would be impossible to get the third row without them. I didn't want people climbing over the car seats to get to the 3rd row. We love how the Acadia drives since it's a cross over and drives more like a car than a truck, which was the main reason why my husband did not want a mini-van. I do have to admit though that when we drove the standard Acadia with no extra features we did not like the way it handles, especially since it was 2 wheel drive and not all wheel drive. I could not believe the world of difference it was driving AWD vs. the two-wheel drive. I did not like the way it handled at all. But again if you're going to buy an SUV what's the point of not getting AWD. Also having leather seats made the S2 package much more comfortable and especially since we do lots of driving it makes the trips so much more comfortable. I could have gotten by with the S1 package but they didn't have it when we were looking and unfortunately at the time our car broke down and we needed to buy a new car right away. As for reliablity, we've had the car barely a year and no problems thus far...*knock on wood*. The car is only a few years old so it's hard to say in the long term but we're hoping it will last us 10 years. Good luck.
