I am looking for a (free) playgroup for my son (will be 5 in October and will start school next year). Since I work from home, he does't attend daycare. I would like to find other mothers out there in the same situation that would like to get together for playdates.
I also have 2 daughters that will be 11 and 1 in October as well. Since my oldest will be going back to school next month, I would like someone for my son to play with and I think interaction with kids he doesn't know would be great for him...
Days or night would work for me, as I can work when I want. Also, my husband works 3-11, so I am home alone with the kids!!
No, I don't, but was wondering if you could tell me about them also. I have a son whose 4 and a daughter whose is 6 months. I know that my son would love it. I'm a stay at home mom too. We do take him to the Maplewood Mall to play at the play area there. There is also is MOPS if that helps you. Thanks B. F
I enjoy my membership in MOMS Club in Woodbury, perhaps there is one in Oakdale?
Membership is only $25/year and you generally get to pick from a calendar of events for what fits your schedule. Some clubs have organized playdates, some are just meeting at parks, homes, play places, etc. Our club does community service projects, tours of businesses (ice cream and the post office were my kid's favorites).
My kids best friends are the ones we've gotten to know from Moms Club - mine too actually!

I am in Oakdale too. I'm not sure if you were the one that contacted me when I posted this question, but the email just got lost in my other emails after it was read. (I have a very bad habit of not deleting my emails after they're read, until my box get full). I would love to get our boys together for play dates. My son went to ECFE last year, and was very shy around the other kids, and really only warmed up to one boy, enough where he wanted to go back to school so they could play. We live in an area where there are no other kids his age (except our one neighbor, which I don't trust the parents) He will be going to kindergarten next year too, and I would really like for him to develop some social skills before that time. Check out Meetups.com. There are TONS of groups on there.. Everything from Stay at Home moms to garage sale junkies. It is a great place to find groups of people. I belong to two play groups.. a Hip Mama group and Roseville area stay at home moms group. They have "meetups" every week, sometimes 2-3 times as well as Moms Night Out which is kinda cool.
