I am starting to investigate preschools for my 3 year old twins (they just turned 3 in December). I live in SW Naperville. Does anyone out there have one that they love? Any advice, comments or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

My son goes to the new Junior Village Preschool - the Bolingbrook location. It's off of Boughton near the Meijer on Webber. It's a fabulous program and very affordable. We live in Naperville too. I currently pay $155.00 a month for the 4&5 year old class. It meets 3 days a week. If you are looking into the 3 year old class I think it is a little cheaper - I believe around $140.00. One way they are able to keep the costs down is by having each child take turns bringing in a healthy snack once a month.

Honestly, I was hesitant at first because it is so much cheaper than the other preschools in the area but after finding out about their program we decided to give it a try and I am very happy that we did. My son loves it and the teachers are super! They have a fantastic phonics program. My son should have a very easy transition to kindergarten in the fall thanks to his teacher and the preschools curriculum.

I hope this helps!

My son goes to Four Winds Waldorf School in Warrenville. It is such a loving and fun place for the kids to go. I can't say enough great things about the teachers there. Your child will learn so many wonderful things. I hope that you check it out. www.fourwindswaldorf.org

Hi M.,

My daughter goes to Wheatland Salem Christian Acadamy which is part of Wheatland Salem Methodist Church. We absolutely LOVE the school. They are located at 95th Street & Book Road. The school is not "preachy" at all - they welcome all denominations & while there are some religious elements taught, they aren't overwhelming. (We aren't even Methodist.) And unlike many public schools, the kids are able to celebrate holidays like Halloween & Christmas. There are 10 students per preschool classroom. When I was doing my research last year, I found their prices to be very reasonable compared to other programs (we were searching for a 3 morning/week program) - I believe the tuition is $195/month for 3 mornings per week starting next school year, which is $10 more than this year. Regardless, we really love this school - and it's an actual SCHOOL - not a room tucked in the back of the church that's been designated as a classroom. You should go take a tour - Nancy Brossman is the director and she is also excellent. We've been nothing but pleased & will be sending our daughter there next year for the 4 year old program as well. Lastly, as an alternate option, I've heard that Just For Kids Preschool has a good program as well. Good luck!
