Do You Know of a Legitimate Work from Home Opportunity?

I am a SAHM of one. With the increase of fuel costs (and subsequently every other bill I have), I would love to find a way to make a little extra money from home, but everything that I have ever heard of sounds like a scam. Do any of you know of a legitimate work at home opportunity? I don't want to spend more than 18-20 hours per week, and I would love to make an extra $300+ dollars a month. I am not interested in selling things, hosting parties etc.

What can I do next?

Check out direct sales businesses. They pay anywhere from 10%-50% and most are quite legitimate. You get to pick your own hours, but you do have to leave your home a few times a week. Most people do anything from 5-20 hours total.
Its far better than piece-work or at home 'medical trascriptionist' where they pay is so low or your left on your own to find clients....
I am in a direct sales business that offers me great training, a great profit, and may other wonderful benefits. I love it!! And I get to be home with my kids most of the time - I choose when I go and when I'm home. Contact me for more information on it :)
Just click on my name and it should allow you to send me an e-mail.

check out Army of Moms (just google it). They have some great opportunities for stay at home mommies that don't involve selling. More like consulting work.

I work from home right now. I'm an Intern (I know, glamorous huh?) for a government organization. Opportunities are out there to work from home - you just have to network and look and ask (just like you're doing). Also, check out Western Governors University (legit online university). They used to have positions that let you work from home, not sure if they still do.

Good luck!

if you have a good network of people to draw from (which i don't so i haven't been very good at this) i place exchange students. through the company i work with the pay is $100/placement and then $50/month for contacting student, school and family and turning in the appropriate paperwork. unfortunately as far as i know, if you're in UT, there's not really any more opportunities until next fall because the schools here are really strict about letting students come only for the full year and most districts are completely full with exchange students for the year. afice.org if you're interested in the organization i work with, otherwise, i'd just look up exchange student placement organizations and find one you like and apply. there's some running around in the beginning, meeting with families and such, but most of the rest of the school year can be done over the phone. good luck, and definitely send me a private note if you find someone better, i think a lot of sahm would love to know of some way to earn extra without leaving home :)
