Hello Everyone!
Any references to a GYN close to or in San Mateo?? I'm switching because I can never seem to be able to make an appointment that's not within 2-3 weeks from the date I'm calling. SHE'S BUSY.. a little too busy if you ask me. She didn't even deliver my son after she took care of me all 38 weeks!! Even with the way they handle patients is a bit on the hurried side. Thanks ALL!!

What can I do next?

Try the Portola Valley Women's Health Clinic (or is it Center?). There are about 6 Ob-Gyn's there - all very good.

The OB/GYN office that I go to is Peninsula Women's health. I have gone to Dr Jurow there, and now also go to the nurse practitioner Peggy Mahlstedt and really like the office. I would highly recommend them.
Good luck.

In San Mateo (affiliated with Mills-Peninsula) Dr. Henry Hamilton is wonderful. I've never had any problems getting face time with him - and his NP, Georgette, is very friendly, jolly(!) and knowledgeable. Their entire staff is warm and helpful. I was a little worried that it would be weird going to a male doctor, but I felt comfortable immediately after meeting him. He's been delivery babies forever, and indicated by the zillions of pictures of babies he's delivered on the walls of the office.

In Redwood City - Dr Jan Rydfors is absolutely wonderful.
He is a he but was so much more attuned than any woman I've been to.
Wonderful for postpartum care too.

My OB-GYN is Jacqueline Fletcher. She's affiliated with Mill-Peninsula. She delivered all my kids (one set of twins and a singleton) and is just terrific. She really takes time with you and follows up thoroughly. She would not EVER have thought of not delivering my boys (if it was in her power) after seeing me for 35/38 weeks. Can't imagine that! Her office staff is great too. I've never seen any of the other docs in her group, but they're probably all good.

Hi J.,
It is bit far from San Mateo, but I absolutely love and recommend my OB-GYN of Los Altos Oaks Medical Group. He practies with two wonderful midwifes, who actually delivered my twins this summer (naturally and beautifully!) I'm not sure if he takes new patience, but he is the greatest doc. and guy: kind, professional, trustworthy.
his name is Dr. Ken Weber. You can check this med. group here:

Good Luck!
