Do You Have an iPhone?

I am looking at switching my carrier and upgrading to a phone with a data plan. Is the iPhone worth the extra money? What carrier do you use? I am looking to switch from AT&T. I have talked to AT&T, Sprint and Verizon and they all bash each other.

What can I do next?

I love my iPhone but not real happy with ATT... there are a lot of dead spots in my immediate area.
Find out what carrier has the best coverage for where you are going to be most of the time.

I just switched to iPhone recently and I absolutely LOVE it. I have AT&T and wouldn't use anyone else. I think the extra money is worth it if you can afford it.

I have an iPhone with Verizon and never have or had any problems. I love having it and I never thought I would use it as much as I do.

I also have an Otterbox to protect it and a screen cover.

Love my iPhone w/ AT&T...I will suggest getting the Ottorbox case and rubber case...worth the $50...I don't have issues with AT&T but we've been with them FOREVER and were grandfathered in with the unlimited data!

I took it out of the Ottorbox case and because it's so much lighter (and I thought I could make into the house without any issues)...I turned to answer a question from a kid and the phone flew out of my hand...so if I had just put it back into the case before getting out of the car I would not have to $100 to get the screen fixed!

We all 3 have the latest ad greatest IPhones. We've been with ATT for years.

We have the unlimited data, texting, etc. I pay about $250 a month for the 3 of us.

I don't use my camera anymore because the quality of the videos and pictures from the IPhone are great.

We LOVE our IPhones and we've had them since the day they were first introduced. We upgrade each time a new model comes out.

I do suggest AppleCare warranty. I have used it myself and for daughter twice. Daughter ended up with a new phone FREE twice and $199 once vs the retail price.

We are very happy with our purchase of IPhones and ATT

I love my iPhone with Verizon! Great coverage, better than AT&T. My husband was skeptical about getting an iPhone, he had a smartphone before and didn't think the iPhone would be worth the extra money. Well, he loves it and I love mine too!

I went from a crappy Palm Pre to an iPhone and really love it. I have Verizon and get a work discount on the plan and pay about $68 a month. I think Verizon is tops on coverage. I rarely have a problem with dropped calls. The only coverage problem I think I've ever had was when I was in certain stores.

Yes. I have had an Iphone for several years. We have used both AT&T and Verizon. We get much better reception with Verizon, in fact at one point my husband and I both had Iphones but he was with Verizon while I had AT&T because his phone service was paid for by his employer and my contract with AT&T was not yet fulfilled. Anyway, a lot of the time, he would have service and I would not. I was really surprised that I had perfect service and fast internet even in the middle of the forest up near Yellowstone last weekend.
Both providers were good. I love the convenience of the Iphone. To be able to look up ANYTHING, any time the kids have a random question, to check the weather forecast, answer an email, search directions..the camera is really good. It does not zoom, but the photos are very high quality and I use it as my camera the majority of the time.
If you get one, I would suggest immediately getting a rubberized case. The Iphones are very slippery. Otterbox makes a good one. I have seen first hand you can throw the phone on the cement in that case and it just bounces and is fine!

I also have an iPhone through AT&T and never had issues. Yes the iPhone is worth the money! It's the only way my MIL gets to see my kids.

I don't have an iphone. I don't have a cell phone at all, but if I were to get one I would not get an iphone. I think Apple is becoming a monopoly with their overpriced items.

Very happy with my iPhone -- we have verizon with no problems. I had to switch from ATT (my old phone was not an iPhone) and I liked ATT until I tried to switch -- they gave me a hard time and continued to charge me even though I had cancelled.

I agree with the post to look on each provider's website to see where they get good coverage. We recently switched from Tmobile to ATT. We wanted to switch to Verizon, but their coverage in the area where my husband frequents for work was terrible. So we had to go with ATT.

As for the iphone. I've had two smart phones ever. A Nokia Lumina (Tmobile) and an iPhone. I wasn't happy about being a conformist when it came to the iphone, but really there is a lot of great smart technology in there. I do enjoy the phone. My only concern is that if you pay a big hunk of change for it, you gotta take GOOD care of it. Some apps have you shake the phone or flick it in your hand. Fun I guess, but one slip of the hand and you throw your phone across the room. I think the $30-$50 you spend on protective coverings/cases are well worth their money. I don't know what Gs or Ss my phone is. But I do enjoy it. Sometimes I get dropped calls. I hear that it is an iphone thing, not an ATT thing. With Tmobile and my Nokia I never had a dropped call.

I don't, but may I suggest that you really think about whether or not the extra expense will be worth your while? What features are you looking for in a phone?

Personally, the iPhone is too much "phone" for me, so I have a cheaper smart phone with a prepaid plan for under $50 a month will phone, text and data. Your bill be a lot higher than that through a traditional contract carrier.

Also, I don't like the thought of spending that much on a material item that's a luxury, and I'd be too worried about breaking or losing it. Most Smartphones can do most of what the iPhone can do, it really just depends on what features you want, and they are.

I got a 4s a few months ago. I am not computer or phone saavy but have managed to find my way around fairly quick & easy with the iphone. We had US Cellular for 15 years and would have stayed with them if they offered iphones. My husbands job gets a discount with Verizon so we are now with them. My husband works in a very remote place, absolutely nothing around, lots of barb wired fences, with thick concrete walls and no windows, and he gets great reception. I refuse to go with AT&T, my friends that have them have terrible reception & sprint is just as bad.

We've had Verizon for years. Hubby has a smartphone, I do not. I am basically home all day, so I really don't need Internet access on my phone.
