Disposable Diapers That Don't Leak

I am interested in getting opinions about different brands of disposable diapers. We will be having a new baby in our home in a few months. Are any of the store brand diapers any good, or am I better off sticking with the major brands? We are on a budget and I want to go ahead and buy some packs now, but don't want to waste money on brands that leak. Thanks for your help!

Sam's club store brand is very good, but I have had issues with fit at certain stages. Stocking up now sounds great - IF you can keep up with receipts and return them if fit or leaks are problems. Sam's has a liberal return policy. My standard fit always standby is huggies.

My daughter only bought pampers for her girls. She never had any problems. They start out called swaddlers. Buy some coupons on ebay.

Hey D.,

The generic brand for Toys R Us and Babies R Us and Walmart have been great. I just don't live close enough to those stores to get any of them regularly. If you do, they are cheaper than the brand names. My absolute favorite disposable diapers are Huggies. I have used them with both of my kids. Some of the worst diapers have been generic brands I've gotten at CVS stores or Roses. Although they worked with my first child, Luvs didn't hold up with my son. Target and Whole Foods brands also didn't make my cut.

Hope this is helpful. Also, check out my website about parenting http://www.noblemother.com

I LOVED the Pampers Swaddlers for when they were tiny! Very soft. I used Pampers for my son and he could seriously fill them up before leaks. I used Huggies for my daughter and have been just as happy with those. I did try the 7th Generation (more ecofriendly) but my daughter got serious diaper rash. Different brands react differently with the urine so you have to try a few if you have diaper rash problems. I know Huggies has a lotion in the liner to help with rash. Have you considered cloth? Try cottonbabies.com they have a ton of great information on cloth diapering and that is really the least expensive way to go. Yes the up front cost is a lot but in the long run you will save a ton. I tried 6 Bumgenius all-in-ones and have been happy with those, I use them everyother day. And its not as gross as you might think. They do take an extra dry cycle but they are great diapers. happy diapering!

I would not recommend the Target brand of diapers. I tried them in an effort to save money but ended up frustrated with all the leaks. I went back to Pampers and was much happier. Huggies are good, too.
