Has anyone used disposable bottles while travelling for like a one week vacation? I don't want to bring sterilizers or bottles with us on our trip to feed our then 8 month old! Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi All!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I think the Playtex liners are the way to go and if I have to rinse some nipples, so be it. Between all of the "gear" well have with us, I want to travel as light as possible for this road trip! Yeah, I hadn't thought about the sterilizing thing beyond 3 months. My son is 4 months now. I guess it's been like a force of habit...and he's my first...you know us paranoid "first time mommies!" hahahah

i agree get the drop in liners. then you just have to wash the nipples. I never used a sterilizer for any of my 4 as babies and they are in perfect health

I wouldn't think its too hard to rinse bottles. No need to sterilize..
Do people actually do that? Are people SO concerned about bacterias they keep every possible germ away from baby? That doesn't make a healthy/strong baby...

~ I'd do anything to avoid anything 'disposable'
Think you can do it? I know you can!

I'd go with drop ins and Playtex bottles and if you really want to get the nipples/bottles clean other than rinsing out in the sink get some Medela steam clean bags. A little water, the bottle parts and pop them in the microwave in the room! Easy Peasy!

We always just bring a small bottle of dish soap and a bottle brush (and of course formula powder that doesn't need refrigeration). I never sterilized much beyond maybe 3 months with my kids. By the time they can crawl and stick toys in their mouths it is a loosing battle anyway.

I used them and loved them. Playtex makes a really good disposable system with the drop in bags. I would toss 2 bottles and a box or 2 of the bottle bags/inserts (drop-ins). I never sterilized as my pediatricians didn't support it, they told me to put the bottles in the top rack of the dishwasher which I was not a big fan of so I washed the bottles separately and really well. When we went on vacation or on day trips I always carried my own dish soap.

You do not need to be sterilizing bottles at 8 mos. Actually you really do
not have to do it at all. Just take a couple with you and wash them out.
When traveling with a baby, with all the things you need, a few bottles
won't take up much room. Have fun.

No need to sterilize now. Just normal washing. If you really feel the need to sterilize, I'd just boil water and soak for a few minutes. Haven't heard of disposable bottles, but maybe just bring 3 so you can always have at least 1 clean one when you wash the other 2.

Is your baby on formula? They sell premade disposable bottles with formula already in them.
