We're thinking about planning a trip to Disney World next fall or winter. Any suggestions about the best time to go? Places to stay?

What can I do next?

One of the times we have gone was the first weekend in Oct. it is a cheaper and less crowed time but it was so hot and very very humid. So humid that it rained for a short period every afternoon. I like going in early Feb. check the dates on their website b/c in Feb. it jumps from the cheapest time to the most expensive (spring break) in a day.

We have always stayed on ground, at one of the All Star resorts, they are the cheapest but you still get all of the benefits. It is so worth it and really not that much more than other hotels.

I went to Disney over 10 years ago, and we went mid September. We were able to practically walk on to every ride without any wait --- I think Space Mountain was a 10 min wait. Now, that was a long time ago, so things may have changed but that is when I will aim to go again once my daughter is old enough to enjoy it. I thought that time was maybe not that crowded because a lot of kids were back in school. The weather in Sept. was mid 80's.

If you aren't worried about a school schedule, they say that between Labor Day and Columbus Day is a good time because it is still warm, but the hotels are cheaper because it is a slow time.

Hi D.! We actually have our trip planned for this summer. We're staying at the Contemporary. I can't imagine standing in line for a bus in the heat!!!! The Contemporary is right on the monarail system, while it is more costly than the other value and moderate resorts, I'm willing to pay for the convienience; especially if our son has a melt down.

I would be cautious about when you go. During September and October I know for sure that the parks have shortened hours, some even closing as early as 7 p.m. Also, the parades, fireworks, etc are not every night during the "off times"; hence, that's why its less expensive.

Good Luck!
