I'm beginning to plan a family trip to Disney and would love to hear any tips (cost-saving, especially) you have. We have 2 girls who will be 7.5 and 4.5 when we go in November. Thanks!

Disney had an ad on here for $68 per person per day. If you see it below here, click on it to get that code.

I'm assuming you mean Disney World in Florida & Not Disneyland in CA, right?

The best deal I found the last time we went a few years ago on tickets was a Kissimmee Guest Services. They've got a website you can order the tickets through & just pick them up when you get there. Also, we always rent a house rather than get a hotel room. We find it's much more convenient to have a full kitchen to have breakfast every morning & even make a couple of dinners, our own pool, game room, etc. We've always gone through Vacation Rentals By Owner (www.vrbo.com) for this & had great luck.

We are staying at an All-Star hotel, they are the cheapest onsite Disney hotels, usually. Can find cheaper hotels outside of Disney but add in the cost to get to the park plus the guest at Disney are already there to get in early if they want it may even out to stay at an All-star hotel in Disney.

Meal plan; one sit down, one fast food, one snack plus a cup that we can refill at the hotel as much as we want. I plan on bring a box of cereal & prewarpped muffins/other snack items in the suitcase. If you get a meal plan do make reservations for the sit down meals at least 3 months ahead, if not more to make sure you get the place/time you want.

We are staying 5 days so no need for hopper pass, we are hitting a park a day, then last day we will decided where we want to go back to.

Stroller for my daughter, she is 5 but the two bigger parkers (or if you are hopping) will get tired out in the afternoon so plan on either renting or carrying your youngest. To rent a stroller, about $13 a day so bring a cheap one if you are staying a few days and it will save you a cost.

Go to allears.net. That time of year you should be able to get some good
deals as long as it is not Thanksgiving weekend. The meal plan is a really
good deal. Dependiing on your budget, my favorite value hotel, is the Pop
Century. The kids would love it too. If money is not an issue, my other
favorite is Fort Wilderness Lodge. Get the park hopper passes unless you
are only going for four days. Then you can just do one park a day and save
some money. Book your restaurants as soon as you make your reservations. Allears.net has all the information on everything Disney. You
can look at the menus and the prices and then realize what a good deal the
meal plan is! Have fun.

May I suggest dinner at The Grand Floridian- 1900 Park Fare and ask for a table in the middle. That way your girls will have a chance to dance witht the prince! Also- if you plan on taking them to eat in the castle at Magic Kingdom make sure that you make your reservations 6 months in advance! Seriously- you won't get a table if you don't, It is a truly magical experience.
I would NOT purchase the park hopper. There is plenty to do for one day at each park and if it is their first time it is somewhat overwhelming.
Start looking at Airfares now and track them. Last November we booked with AA for $200 per person but you really have to track the flights.
Enjoy - it will truly be a wonderful memory for you and your family.
