I was wondering if anyone knew about a dishwashing soap that doesnt leave a residue. I use bottle for my daughter and when I wash them in the dishwasher they seem to always have a soapy residue in them...I didnt notice for a while but noticed it later and felt so bad. I have just been rinsing them out...but whats the point of a dish washer that doesnt do its job?

What can I do next?

I have the newest diswasher, and a really good one as well, yet i've had the same problems. I think it's due to the water you have. If it's well water it may leave more of a residue? But i find i have to rinse out cups and things as well. Baby bottles i always washed by hand until my daughters were about 1 year. There are lots of new detergents out there, but do what you feel right about doing. I still rinse(along with using a rinse aid, and cascade complete).

I'm not sure where the other mom got the info on if you get a drop of cascade in your mouth you die. A little over the top if you ask me. I've used Cascade Complete for 5 yrs now in two different homes with totally different dishwashers for both my children no-complaints and my kids are just fine. Iprefer the gel over the powder though, it seems to dissolve better especially if you don't have a water softner system.

I recently read in Parenting that many types of plastic bottles should not even go in the dishwasher because it can break down the chemicals in the plastic, much like the news of not drinking from plastic water bottles that have been left in a hot car. I can't tell you which ones, but i'm sure you can find ____@____.com. I didn't find out for a long time, but I suggest handwashing with hot soapy water.

Cascade Complete is very good, and worth the price, but the Electrosol tables with the little balls in the middle work just as good and are not quite as expensive.
Good Luck!

I use Cascade Complete. I changed over from the cheap stuff for the same reason- the residue it was leaving. I haven't noticed any residue since I switched. It's one of the more expensive dish soaps, but it is worth it.

Hello.

Make sure you have rinsing agent in the dishwasher. I notice when it runs out that the dishes seem to have a film on them. Hope this helps.

I will not suggest Cascade. If you do research on Cascade it shows that if your child takes a drop of it their throat closes up and they can die.

One of your previous responses suggested DIAMOND BRITE. DIAMOND BRITE is a 100% safe & 100% guaranteed. I just love it. I only use natural & safe products for my family. I also have a baby and wash her stuff in the dishwasher so I understand where your coming from. DIAMOND BRITE does not leave any residue and at the same time it's safe for your entire family.

Hi J.,

I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but CASCADE is NOT a great product to use in the dishwasher. ESPECIALLY FOR BABY BOTTLES!!! How many of you have read the precautions on CASCADE and other dishwasher products. Let me give you a little tid bit on what it says:

Cascade
Sodium Hypochlorite Sodium Silicate: Can be corrosive. Can cause burns to the eyes and tissue damage to the skin, as well as cause burns to the mouth, throat, and stomach if swallowed.

Now if your dishwasher is not rinsing everything well, what do you think happens to the residue over a period of time.

Ladies, I urge you to read the link below...

It's a matter of life and maybe death for your children and I'd be willing to send you a pamphlet (Let's Stop Poisoning Our Children) with this information if your interested. Especially for the Children's sake. Let me know

I have found a whole bunch of safe products to use around my 2 girls including dish soap. I love all of the products and not only are they safer for your home they are also safer for the enviroment and they are better for your septic if you have one. Everything is clean and no residue. Anyway the dishwashing Detergent is called Diamond Brite from EcoSense. If you want to know where to get it give me a shout and I'd be happy to share it with you.
