Ughh! Having an issue with Direct tv. I recorded Good Luck Charlie at 8pm last night on channel 291, about 7 minuteds into n the show another show recorded, showing a 700 lb naked man, this show continued to record until about 21 minutes into Good Luck Charlie, we contacted Direct TV, and so far they are trying to blame us saying that we must have recorded the other show, it was on a channel we DO NOT even watch. We have spoken to a customer service rep, their supervisor and now another supervisor! They will not take responsibility for their broadcasting error! SOOO PISSED! Has anyone ever had this happen??????

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

First off I was not making fun of obese people, second they were washing the man so my kids did see a little more than they needed too, and third off no matter what type of question is posed here why is it someone has to be negative or make it seem like the person posing the question is some how to blame. Good Lord, I was uspet at what my kids saw and wanted answers fro Direct TV, whether their fault or DVR malfunction, they needed to explain to us, not makje it seem like we did something wrong, because NO I am not in the habit of recordin any type of adult shows for my children.

I don't really see how this DirectTV's fault either. It sounds more like a malfunction with your DVR. Each channel is on a different band width and in the extremely rare possibility, if a possibility at all, the bandwidths crossed - DirectTV has nothing to do with that. Direct TV does not broadcast anything, they do not produce any content and are not a network such as ABC - they are an administrator/facilitator that provides a service.

A good question would be, was anyone watching Good Luck Charlie last night @ 8pm on channel 291 and did this happened to them as well.

**My husband's response - maybe your husband had it set up to record.
My son's response - is your parental controls on to keep that from being viewed? Either way, it is DirectTV's 'fault'. Why do you need someone to blame. Remember the ole saying? Sh!t happens!

Sorry, I don't see how this is DirecTV's fault. They didn't break into your house at night and record something on your DVR. Obviously this was a box malfunction, a programming error (which is a network issue, not DirecTV's fault), or some bandwidth error. None of which is within their power to control.

Further, I think you're exaggerating when you say "700 lb naked man". I've seen the shows about extremely obese individuals and their stomachs hang so drastically over their hip area that you really can't tell whether they are wearing pants or not. So, are you doing that for the dramatic effect to complain to DirecTV, or to make fun of obese people? Either one is a bit mean-spirited, if you ask me.

Sounds like a fluke, just let it go.

This hasn't happened to me...but if you recorded GLC, and it suddenly changed to 700-lb naked dude, I would definitely be writing to someone important at DirecTV.

I'd make it clear that you expect some action to be taken or you will take your recorded material to the press. What if your kids had been watching?

I have dish network and it happens to us a lot. It also randomly records shows that we don't ask it to and shows we never watch. We'LL be watching TV and it'll flip to another channel and start recording add I frustrating.

Is this a new installation or did you get a new box? We had a new box put in our living room recently because the old one died and the guy didn't install it correctly. He was from another company hired by Directv. The new box is HD and the old box that we have in the playroom were not compatible. The old box wouldn't even work (even after the guy was here twice for a total of about 8 hours) but it was interfering with the signal on the new one and we had the exact same thing happen. The kids were watching tv and it switched channels. It said we were watching Nickjr or Disney when we hit info but a news channel was on the screen.

My husband convinced them (screaming and yelling) to send out someone else. A guy from Directv came out and fixed everything. He replaced our old box with one that is compatible with the HD one. Haven't had it happen since.

I worked at Sykes for a couple of years. They have call centers all over the world. I worked the SBC DSL account for MAC computers. I love MAC owners. They bought them on purpose and are so easy to talk to. My call time went down from 1 1/2 hours to about 12 minutes when I switched from Windows computers to Mac...I digress, sorry.

Anyhow, we had another account one time. It was for a TV account like DIRECT TV and they did our TV's that were hung through out the building. I called my team leader one time and threw a fit. Someone is the main room where the TV controls were had switched the TV to a movie called "Mischief" with Kelly Preston. If you have seen the movie you know just how hairy she is down there...it was very offensive to me to be seeing that at my work place.

Stuff happens all the time. But I would most likely agree that you need to make sure that your recording device is not faulty. They did not show a man getting bathed in our show last night so something happened most likely in your home.

Sometimes I find things recorded on our DVR that I think "How did that get there" I didn't record it . Sometimes I wonder if the kids scrolling through channels accidently press a wrong button. Sometimes I've expected a certain show to be recording only to find out something else recorded and I don't know why. It never occurred to me to take it up with direct TV . Interesting that this has happened to you. I figured it was our mistake somehow. But...... for this to happen during a Good Luck Charlie episode? Not cool! We love Good Luck Charlie:) lol. Was the recording labeled "Good Luck Charlie"?
