I am finally gotten serious about getting healthy and getting my weight down. One of the reasons that it was easy to gain weight is because the booby fairy came to visit and I felt pretty good about myself. My mom even commented on how slim my hips looked. Now that I am losing weight, sure enough, it is coming off of my bust-line almost exclusively. I'm down an inch and a half to 35 1/2 inches while my hips and legs haven't budged even 1/4 of an inch. (My hips are over 40 inches) Yes, I am exercising - a toning and cardiovascular regimen. How can I embrace my health and have confidence that I things will eventually balance out or is that simply a pipe dream?

What can I do next?

Things might "balance" out but probably not in the way you'd like lol! Take heart though, a nice lean overall look will be achieved with continued exercise and weights - the end result will be worth the few inches lost in the boosom:)

Well the bad thing is we can't target weight loss. You tone all you want but when you are loosing weight you can't tell your body from where. But if you keep working out and keep shedding more lbs it will come off you hips aswell. after baby #2 I got down to 107 pounds which I loved being at BUT I also lost pretty much all my boobs too. So yeah I know the feeling of no chest. LOL

Is it baby weight? I noticed something similiar once I got serious about losing my baby weight - my hips and bottom slimmed down pretty quickly, but my top part, especially my stomach and waist, have been stubborn about holding on to the inches.

I'm getting pretty close to the weight I was before kids - but my body is in no way shaped the same anymore. Now I am big busted and little bottomed and have to be careful about what shirts I buy - no more spaghetti strap sundresses for me..I think that a big bust line is highly overrated and I would gladly give some of mine away - as a petite person with a large chest - its hard to find shirts that fit right and my chest always makes me look heavier than I am.

I think you should continue exercising, and I think that helps alot with confidence. Big hips are "in" right now, and dress to accentuate them. If you miss your cleavage, buy a push up bra. :)

Unfortunately, people's bodies are made differently, and being slim and full-busted may just not be in the cards for you. It's not for me either. I'm a size 4 up top (32A bra) and a full size 8 through the hips. But, I'd encourage you to stick with your exercise. You will feel better, and you will look better, even if you lose your boobs somewhat. Ask a close friend, because I know that I have trouble seeing how my hips / thighs tone up (but no problem noticing breast shrinkage). Good luck, and know that I feel your pain. :-)

You don't give your age. That matters. Also genetics. Not just your mom, either. Women have a 75% chance of taking after their dads' side. I know I do. The older I get, the more I look like my dad's sisters---horrors!!!! Don't just diet, though. Study nutrition and learn what foods do what. A stationery bike will help with the lower part of your body. Don't worry about the boobs. They never quit growing. I was a bra fitter for almost 20 years and I learned from that, as well as from myself, the boobs just don't quit growing. The average woman, as a general rule, will go up a cup size about every 20 years, and more if there's a weight gain. Now if a woman is small, that's good news. Even an average sized person won't complain too much, but if one is already "heavily blessed," it's just not the greatest thing. My mother always said, "Be careful what your wish for, you might get it." She was right!!!

You generally lose first what you gained last. So I'm guessing that is probably the last place you gained, once you get down to what your healthy size is you'll start shedding it in other places as well. It could also be that you're losing it in your back as well as you tone up and not your true bust line but you will probably see a general size reduction too.

In my experience, the last place you gain is the first place you lose. Good news, they make amazing bras that can enhance your bust line and now that you know what you want them to look like you can shop with that in mind. Good luck!
