Hi There,
My husband and toddler have had a cold for several days, my husbands started as a scratchy throat and hase been coughing for days now... my toddler has a very runny nose. My older daughter had a fever and a scratchy throat for a day a couple of weeks ago. Well, last weekend I had a bit of a scratchy throat and a little fever one evening and woke up fine the next day. Then, Wed. morning I woke up nauseous and had diarhea and was nauseous most of the day. It is Friday afternoon now and I still have no appetite and have been very tired and weak (maybe from not eating much). Has anyone else been experiencing this? Is this all part of the ongoing cold that everyone else has that is just hitting me differently, or is it something else. Usually when I get stomach bugs it moves really quickly for me, but I still just feel crummy. (no fever). I am just hoping I recover soon and nobody else in the family gets it if it is something else, because we are going to FL on Thursday. Ugh....

What can I do next?

Starve a cold and feed a fever. I am not sure I believe in it--but that is what the doctor's say.

Sorry about that. The only thing nice about that is that you are loosing weight. The last time I got sick like that I lost about 15 pounds. I kept 6 or 7 of it off.

Are your water sources compromised? If they are, or may be, boil your water before drinking it. That will help you rid yourself of intestinal problems.

Hope you get to feeling better. Good luck to you and yours.

It seems to be going around.
Stick with a liquid diet for awhile.
Soup broth, jello, Gatorade, herbal tea.
You don't really need to eat solids as long as you keep your fluids up and your electrolytes balanced.
Very slowly go back to your usual diet starting with soft foods - mashed potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, rice, soft boiled eggs - avoid dairy, grease and meats at first.

Yeah, I have had this stomach bug since last Saturday. I wasn't sure if it was a bug or something else. I thought maybe I accidently got some wheat gluten in my diet. My stomach hurts and I feel tired and I don't have much of an appetite. I have been using Mylanta and eating plain food like scrambled eggs. Today, my stomach is still bothering me, but it seems to feel a little better. I was able to drink my tea today.

My kids and I have also suffered from a scratchy throat and vague sore throat, cold sx.
I hope you feel better soon.

Actually, I am going to suggest getting tested for strep. Strep will cause diarhea, loss of appetite and fatigue. My kids never run a fever with strep.
