My husband and I are expecting a boy in June. We each have two from previous marriages so we know a lot about what we want, but it has been seven years since the last child and there are a lot of new products on the market. We saw a new diaper by Pampers called Swaddlers and we were wondering if anyone has any opinions about this product? Is it just another name for the same diaper Pampers made in the past?

I don't know what the Pampers were like in the past, but Swaddlers are great! We had my daughter in them from day one...until we just recently started her on Pull-Ups for potty training. The Swaddlers were soft, comfortable, and she had very few leaks the 2 yrs or so that she wore them.

Swadlers are the only diapers that work on my newborn son. Strangely, the Swadlers were horrible on my daughter (lots of leaks and "accidents")--she could only wear huggies. They gave us the Swaddlers in the hospital, and then I switched to Huggies, based on my experience with my daughter...and we are back to swadlers now. I like them, and they cover a range of sizes so you don't end up having diapers that don't fit anymore...

Hi S.,

Believe me when I tell you that I have tried every diaper out there. I have a baby girl and the swaddlers are hands down the best diaper!

Hi. I work for Kimberly-Clark, the company that makes Huggies diapers. I believe our diapers are the best. Try either Supremes which are more cloth-like covers or the Ultratrim. Most babies do not stay in Newborns or the Pampers version (Swaddlers) for very long. I have attached our web site address for more baby info. Good luck!

No! It's not just another name,...I love Swaddlers, and was only able to use the "newborn" size because they had just that one when my daughter was born. You may not like them because everyone has their own likes/dislikes,..but I LOVED them.

Hi! Well, Swaddlers seemed to be the industry standard when our daughter was born; all the parents gave us those. They aren't like the Pampers Baby Dry, and I wasn't real crazy about them once she got older because something about the way the lining works, she always felt damp on the outside. On the other hand, when she was smaller it helped you decide if the diaper needed changing. :-)

Huggies are also good but they run a lot smaller, size wise. If you like Huggies, the Costco Kirkland brand is basically the same thing. I didn't use Luvs when my daughter was small but we use them now and have no problems. And finally, the store brand we like best is Kroger's (not the yellow package, the other reddish one).

Hope this helps! :-)

I still use the swaddler! Everyone told me they were all the same, but that Pamper beat all of them. She was my first so I tried every diaper to make everyone happy! I, to my regret still can't get her to go in the potty, but that diaper saves us all. It's a little high priced but worth it!!

Congrats on your upcomming new addition.
Swaddlers in my opinion and everyone I have spoken to leak. Swaddlers are by Pampers but basically just for newborns, for newborns I recommend Huggies. My baby is in size 3 and I prefer Pampers in his size.
Once he goes past the swaddlers the Pampers are better than huggies cause in size 2 the Huggies leak.
Any other questions, I will be happy to help.

I have a six month old and we have used both Pampers Swaddlers and Huggies Supreme. The Swaddlers are WAY better. The Huggies leaked for my little girl (not sure about boys). We are currently using size 2 Swaddlers and we started using them when she was born (size N). We LOVE them because they are super soft and very absorbent. It really pulls the liquid away from her tooshie, which I love. Hope this helps!

I have a 1 yr old boy and an almost 3 yr old girl. We used Swaddlers exclusively with our girl (then moved to Cruisers when she was a size 3). The stretchy elastic waistband is way better than Pampers Baby-Dry. We liked Swaddlers on our boy as well, but he uses Huggies Supreme now that leaks and blow-outs aren't an issue. However, the Huggies seem lumpier than the Cruisers did. But they are narrower in-between his legs. Also, just a little diaper trivia: Luvs is the same diaper as Pampers Baby-Dry (both P&G products). The Costco diapers are the same as Huggies Ultratrim (they have a deal with Kimberly-Clark)

I am a new mom-- my daughter is 4 weeks old today!! We are currently using the Pampers Swaddlers. We've tried other brands of newborn sizes, but the Swaddlers fit her the best. She is a litle over 8 lbs and about 21 inches long---- skinny little thing. I don't know what Pampers made for newborns in the past, but the Swaddlers are great. Good luck with your newest baby. :)

I beleive swaddlers are the same. Only thing that may be new is there is a part cut out to make room for the umbilical cord stump (so you don't have to fold it down). pampers are a good choice for newborns. I have had 3 in diapers in the last 5 years and THE BEST brand I have found (regardless of cost) is WHite CLoud diapers at WalMart. Overall they have had the fewest leaks on my kids. I venture out every now and then to Luvs (yuck) and Huggies/Pampers, but ALWAYS come back to white cloud. They also have Newborn diapers.

Congratulations on your new addition!
Good Luck!!

I love the swaddlers they are my favorite. Pampers also makes baby dry but, I don't like them as much. Swaddlers has stretchy tabs that pull around. That is know all I buy!

i'm a first time mom, but LOVE swaddlers!! they are super soft and the only diaper that my son didn't leak through. we used them until he grew out of #2, which is largest that the swaddlers come in. after that we switched to the cruisers, which are very similar with stretchy velco closures and good absorbancy.

my friend recently introduced me to diapermart. they carry VERY inexpensive diapers made in mexico. they just carry one brand of different absorbancy. we like the medium ones and have been using them for the past month. not as good as the cruisers, but a fraction of the cost.

good luck and enjoy that little guy!

Congrats!
My littlest one is just 8 mos. and my oldest is 17yrs... with 2 inbetween I have experienced the subtlies of diaper evolution! Hands down any diaper with elastic on the backside... (because of the explosive nature of the breast/bottle) Right now Huggies or Huggies supreme...are the only ones with the elastic back.
p.s. and I love destin creamy diaper ointment... use it after each change and you will not have rash issues!

Swaddlers were our favorite diapers to use on our twins when they were infants. They have more stretch and are much softer than Pampers Baby Dry. When your baby grows out of the Swaddlers, Pampers Cruisers are the next size up and are similar in quality to Swaddlers.

I have a 2 YO and 5 month old. We have used Swaddlers with both. THey are wonderful and much stretcher in the waist that anything else we've used. Both my boys leaked out of huggies and pampers were the only thing that worked. We used Swaddlers and then Cruisers (once they outgrew the swaddlers). If you register on pamper's website, they will send your coupons and samples from time to time. Also, pampers has a point program as well. Each bag of diapers and pack of wipes comes with a code that you enter on their website. Once you accumulate enough points, you can get really cool stuff for free.

I am a parenting coach for parents with newborns, and I travel the nation doing such. I work with about a dozen families a year and about 15 or so babies (multiples are common in my line of work.) Pampers Swaddlers are a great diaper: they fit well, are very absorbent, and are great for girls. However, it is my experience that Huggies Supreme is a much better diaper for boys.
Hope this helps,
L.

I have used these for my little baby girl. I think they are wonderful! They are stretchy where the tapes are so if you have a skinny baby (like ours) you can get them to fit better. She was in the N size (newborns) for a while. When going to the next sizes, the fact that they stretch allows you to get them snug when the diapers might be just that little bit too big (cuts down on leaks). Also, they have a 1-2 size that is nice. My baby was allergic to everything except Pampers. The swaddlers are a lot softer too. I love them. I wish they had them past size 2, but they stop at size 2.

Swaddlers are the best for newborn, especially until cord falls off. Many hospitals send you home with thema and use them while your infant is there.

I have two boys (2.5 months and 3.5 years). My first son used swaddlers for a few months, then went to wal-marts white cloud because they fit him better. He stayed with them until potty trained.

With my send boy (2.5 months old) I started with swaddlers at the hospital and then tried many others once home (looking for something that fit as well but was cheaper) to no avail. Swaddlers fit the best for newborns by far. I did find them at Sam's in a large box for a reasonable price, but only after growing into a size 1. You cannot buy "N" newborn in large quantity.

I hope this helps. Good luck with the little one.

Hi. I am a first time mom of a now 7mo old, but I love swaddlers. We were given a sampler pack of diapers when he was born and we tried them all. Swaddlers fit the best and kept him dry the best. We especially DONT like the pampers baby dry - the gel in the diapers gave my son a little rash ...hope this helps. Good luck!!

Hi S.

My experience with the swaddlers was a good one. What I liked about them is that (for newborns) they have an opening in the front by where the belly button is. This way it won't rub or cover the belly button of the baby, especially if he still has some of the cord attached. Plus pampers are very absorbent. They fit snuggly on the baby as he gets out of the newborn stage. Good Luck and Congrats!!

P.S. I am a mom to a 20 month old toddler.
