Diapers - Chandler, AZ

My daughter will be 11 months old on the 10th and is just about big enough to move out of size 2 Pampers Swaddlers and on to size 3 diapers. I was thinking about going to Costco and trying either their brand or huggies. Any advice on which is better? My daughter has a very small frame so I need something that will "hug" her like the swaddlers did...some diapers are cut very wide. Thanks.

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the great advice. I had some pampers cruisers I had gotten a long time ago and tried them on her. She is still too small for them, she is only 16.5 lbs so she is on the edge of the weight limit. I am going to try the Swaddlers that are size 2-3 the weight limit is 14-22 lbs which sounds like the next step to take. I have always loved the Swaddlers so I am sure they will work out. I'll let you guys know how it works.

A.,

I swear by Pampers cruisers!!! They are strechy like the swaddlers and stay in place. I have used them on both my girls and have recommended them to friends and they now love them as well.

Hi A.,
I know that pampers now makes a size 2-3 in the value sized boxes.... they just came out w/ that size. And you can go to pampers.com and they email/ mail coupons all the time. My daughter is only 3 months old (I use Pampers Swaddlers) but I worked at a daycare and Costco or Pampers were the best diapers that were used. Hope this is of some help to you.

hi! My daughter is also very petite. We have been using the Parent's Choice brand and never had any problem with it, and It is a lot cheaper than pampers. you could buy it at walmart. I never liked luvs.

Hi A., I LOVED Pampers swaddlers, and hated to have to change the diaper type. My 16-month old is a small frame too, he fit perfectly in Swaddlers 1-2 for a while, but when ready to move to the size 2 Swaddlers, they were too big. I stuck with the Pampers brand, and tried Baby-Dry. So far these have not let me down as far as leakage, and they do "hug" his body.

I hated Huggies, I don't care for the way they fit my baby, and for some reason I had a problem with the texture of the diapers. - If you try a diaper type, be sure to save the receipt. I take the open pkg back if it dosent meet my satisfaction after 2 diapers. Good luck

A., My brother and his wife had boy and girl twins and they used the Swaddlers at first and then moved into the Costco brand after that. He said they were very happy with the Kirkland brand. My son is has been wearing the size 3 Huggies since he was 6 months old and they work great, so I think either will work. I think there is about a $3 or $4 price difference per 224 diapers, so it's not a lot.

I used the swaddlers in the beginning and I loved them. Now we use huggies from costco, they aren't as soft as the swaddlers, but I haven't found a diaper that is as soft. I am happy with them, they do the trick and I have tried other brands and haven't been happy with them. I haven't tried the costco brand either though, but they are usually a good brand in everything else. Good luck.

I have an 18 month old little girl who has been in size 3 diapers forever! She's really long and lean -
Here's what I've been doing - I buy the el cheapo bargain diapers - I've used the Comforts brand from Fry's and the generic brand from Albertson's (they're exactly the same)and Luv's. I use those during the day, because frankly, they aren't that great. I stick with the Pampers or Huggies at night, because the cheapies leak in the front and my baby ends up soaked in the morning. I know it's a pain to buy two diffent brands, but I just buy the smaller packs of the expensive diapers and they last at least a month since I only use one a day.

The costco diapers suck. but my son is also very skinny and we have been using the Target brand since he was 8 months old. They are awesome and about 40% cheaper than huggies or pampers.

I don't know about costco diapers I think they are similar to huggies. But have you tried Pampers cruisers? they are thin between the legs and very stretchy. We used them, the velcro is also much stronger than the others so when she discovers she can pull her diaper open she should have a harder time with cruisers, huggies to me has a very weak velcro.

Hi A.
We have used every brand of diapers out there. The costco brand did ok but with the price difference so little between huggies and costco brands we have always gone w/ huggies. I also have a very small/thin son and have not had problems with the huggies. I have been told however that swaddlers go up to size 4 but cannot find them anywhere. My daughter needs them to not explode but she is chunky. :)

Stay with the Pampers brand - Cruisers are the best. That is what both my girls wear/wore and they are perfect. Yes we did try other brands, store and name but Pampers Cruiser work the best. We didn't much care for the Pampers Baby Dry because we thought they had a funny smell and didn't hug the bum as well as the Cruisers. Good Luck

You do not want Huggies if your daughter is small. My son is small and Huggies leak every time I put one on him. Pampers are good but I have switched to Luvs because the cost is better and you get more diapers for your money. They fit almost just like pampers so they do not leak. I have never used Cosco brand so I can't help you there.

I used the Kirkland Brand diapers with both of my boys and found that they were very similar to Huggies. I loved them and never had any problems with leakage as I have with other more inexpensive brands such as Luv's or Target diapers. Highly recommended and easy to stock up on!

My oldest daughter was in the 10th% and my youngest is in the 5%. I used Pampers Cruisers after using swaddlers. I have Huggies once in awhile and I never tried Costco brand. I guess I have also stuck with Pampers and have had no problems.-Good Luck!

we have been a pampers family from day 1! i worked in a daycare before my son was born, so i have experienced every diaper on the market and pampers have always been my favorite. huggies are okay and the kirkland (costco brand) are almost identical to huggies, but i would absolutely stay away from luvs. they are not stretchy AT ALL and we had problems with the tabs ripping off while we were trying to get the diaper on. we switched from the cruisers to pamper's baby dry with my son and have been COMPLETELY happy! they cost less and are almost the exact same.

happy diaper shopping! : )

We used Huggies for our son. They are the best b/c they don't leak. We tried a generic brand not Costco, but a different one (White Cloud) and they leaked at night time. Just buy the Huggies from Costco - it's cheaper that way.

Hey A.,
I will highly recommend Huggies. My 8 year old wore them, and now my 14 month old wears them. My sister has had her kids in the Pampers and they always hang on them like they have a full load. I've never had that with the Huggies and both of my children are petite, too. I've heard good things about the Costco brand, too, but I still stick with the Huggies that I purchase at Costco. Good luck.
