My son is 29 months old and he keeps on taking his diaper off and loves being "naked baby" just before bedtime. Last night I had to duct tape his diaper to his butt just to keep it on him. He has poddy trained before but has reverted back to diapers. I am ready to try to poddy train again but i am not sure if he is ready again. Do you have any advice on hos to tell my son to keep his diaper on until Mommy and Daddy take it off to change him?

What can I do next?

The reason children revert back to diapers is because parents make them an option. The key to potty training is to be consistent. Once you begin potty training, you must stick with it each and every day until the child learns how to use the toilet. Let him run around naked. Do not force the diaper because ultimately what you are doing is confusing him. He's showing an interest but you are not enforcing it. Let him go without a diaper throughout the day and put him on the toilet every hour. Give hugs, claps, cheering, lots of praise when he does something in the toilet. A special treat that he will associate with going on the toilet is also very important. Gerber makes these tasty but healthy gummy fruit snacks. Give him one treat (not one bag) every time he does something on the toilet. It's not too early, nor is it ever too early. I firmly believe in earlier the better. My youngest is 2 1/2 and potty trained during the day and night. You can do this, you just need to be consistent. Use a diaper for naps, bedtime and when you have to go out. In fact, once he is actively using the toilet, switch to pull-ups.

While you're home let him run around without his diaper...My boys LOVED wearing big boys (underwear) so I let them wear them at home and set an alarm for 30 minutes and everytime they heard a beep they ran to the bathroom. It worked for us! They make thicker underwear that is good for training!

It sounds like your little one is ready for potty training. Maybe it is time to try pull-ups! Also my son loved being a "naked baby" too and was potty trained in no time, it actually helps...at home of course!! Good luck!

He's ready for big boy pants already! Is he wetting the bed at night? Let him wear "training pants". He's also discovering that he's a boy!, being naked is so normal. He'll grow out of it, just show him what to do, take his own diaper off, put it in the garbage, put on his training pants, praise him for making in the potty but refrain from negative actions if he makes "a mistake"...

Seems like wants out of his diaper already. Take the lead and put him in shorts during the daytime. You can take him to pee right after he wakes up and every hour afterwards until you get an idea of his "schedule." Then put the diaper back on to sleep. Be ready for some accidents, but don't fuss of scould, this will only retard the process.
Good luck.

It sounds to me as if he is ready to keep the diaper off. Start potty training him now. Get some of those terry cloth undies, some plastic pants to go over them and put some heavy duty plastic over his mattress. Dont let him revert again, its time! As a matter of fact, I used the bottomless bit on all three of my kids to help with potty training. I would let them walk around with no diaper, underwear or clothes (except for a t-shirt) of any kind all day. They learned not to mess on the floor and had no choice but to run to the toilet when they felt the urge. I am not saying that there were no "mistakes" at first but after about 2 weeks they got used to it and it was smooth sailing from there.

i agree with Donita. Let him run around naked. My son started running around without his diaper probably about 15-18mths old. I got tired of fighting him about it and it actually made it a game. And believe it or not, it helped with the potty training. He wouldn't go to the bathroom if the diaper was on, but as soon as it came off, he would run to the bathroom and go and keep going.
