Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Lexapro.

What can I do next?

I've been on Lexapro for almost two months and it's done it's job. Sex drive is down but I'm not sure if it's the mediation or just the stress in my life right now. I was a complete basket case before taking it and now I've mellowed out. I'm not crying all the time which I feel a good cry is always good but not every day!
Talk to your doctor about all that is on the market and see if you two have find a perfect fit.
Good luck!

M.,
I have been on it since August of 2007. It has helped a great deal, and it does not make me gain weight like some of the others tend to do.

Hi M.,

I tried Lexapro a couple of months ago and it did not work for me. All meds are not created equal....as us humans are not created equal. It made me feel shakey and totally not myself. I told my Dr. and he switched me to Effexor xr.(sp)?
It is great! It doesn't make me feel "disconnected" and it completely helps my full range of emotions. I have never been one to take medication for things like this, but when you get to the point that your behavior and moods are affecting your relationships and family(and I do work out), there has got to be something out there for you.

Good luck...I hope this helps!

Don't start psychiatric drugs. There's no exit strategy for getting off the drugs and if you try to get off of them later, the depression is only worse. Believe me, I used to do volunteer work with people who were trying to come off of them. It's not pretty.

Do some research on nutritional and physical programs. I've also heard some really great success stories from people who've tried Dianetics. Look into it for yourself.

I had good results with Lexapro and ended up having to be on it when I was pregnant which was difficult for me being a natural med./foods kind of girl. Probably why it took me since adolescence to try it, I had exhausted all natural means. My son is a perfectly happy & busy 2-1/2yr old now. After I had my son I had post partum and they increased my dose which worked for about a year, but then it stopped working for me and I am now on Wellbutrin and have been happy with it. I had low sex drive before Lexapro, but I don't think Lexapro helped, so that would probably be the one downside for me but meds really seem to be individual in how they work for different people and I know others whose sex drive wasn't effected.
