Deja a Vue, Need Help

Okay this is bad, but I'm sure any new mom has this dilema, I have not had a hair cut/highlites for 6 months now. It's not exactly on the top ten of my list. I live in Richland Hills, and Deja Vue salon is on my way home from work, so I see that salon all the time. I used to go to sheltons off Harwood, but my stylist left after she had her 3rd baby. So I'm out of a stylist, If anyone has used this salon, please let me know how they are, and if you have a stylist that you could recommend, that would be great. I'm used to dropping around a 120.00 each time I go to the salon, (highlights) So anything in that price range would be acceptable.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies, and mamas! It looks like I have a broad range to choose from. I never knew how Important having a set stylist was, until they're gone. Y'all know how it is with oour hair, and who you can trust. Can't just walk into a salon, to any stylist, and hope for the best, I've had a few bad cuts, and perms, have'nt we all? So it can be scary out there. I will look into getting an appointment soon, maybe the day after thanksgiving, do stylist work on Fridays after the holiday? I guess I will have to pick up the phone and see, Thanks for your responses!! I will not call Deja Vu, that's for sure. Too many negative comments, so majority rules

I have had the same hairstylist for over 10 years (longer than my husband!) Her name is Thuy (pronounced Toy) and she is at Kismet hair design on Grapevine Hwy in Hurst. She is incredible with color. My mother also uses her and she has moved to Raleigh, NC and then to Shreveport, LA but makes a trip to Hurst to get her hair colored! The phone # for Kismet is ###-###-####.

I use Anita at the Shelton's in Fort Worth. I have used a few other people when she was booked and just about all of them do a wonderful job. I would recommend finding someone else at Shelton's.

Good Luck

I have seen that salon as my granddaughters name is Daisa and I tease her being a Deja Vue but went by it and on a Sat they looked closed and it looks run down to me. I have a great salon farther West. Take the N Beach exit turn right heading North. Then when you get to a stop about 2 miles Intersection of Western Center and N Beach just before light turn into Albertsons parking lot. Far en is Rave. They were across the street and management was not even concerned in keeping conditioner and shampoo in the salon at Fantastic Sams. This is a family salon and they are great. I am a hairdresser and had been for 30 yrs. I have hard to manage curly hair and they do great. Marla is heavy and looks like she would not be good but fantastic. I also had another gal there and I was so sceptical and she did great. ###-###-#### I am sure you will be happy with them. G. W

Hi, I haven't used that salon, but I am recommending Tory Lane Salon in NRH (on Davis Blvd next to the Fire Station). They are so friendly and I've been seeing my stylist for 4 years. I'm pretty picky, too and have a very short haircut and try to stay "cutting edge", so I can be a bit demanding. I've been very happy with this place. Just my two cents. Good Luck! BTW: I used to work for Sheltons. : )

Although I have never had a hair cut there, I had a mini-spa package once at Deja-Vue and found it to be the most uncomfortable experience ever. The staff was very unprofessional and the place in general was not very clean.

I have been to JKS and had a favorable experience.

I'm kinda in the same boat and recently I asked a woman with just beautiful coloring where she had it done. I have not yet been there, but she said Regis in the mall in Hurst and ask for a girl called "Que". I'm not sure of that spelling, nor do I have an idea of the cost.
Just thought I'd throw it on the table.
Good luck!

I'm a stylist and I personally do not like that salon for certain reasons.

If you like Shelton's, you would probably like Salon Cheveux. It is just under the highway from Shelton's behind Burger Street. I have had my hair done by pretty much every stylist there and have always loved it.

Hi A.,
I TOTALLY understand. I have never used Deja Vue, but wanted to tell you that I go to JKS Salons and they have a Highlight/Haircut special for $68/$88 (depending on hair length) and they do a fantastic job.

Good Luck!

I am out of your way in Justin, TX! If you are used to dropping that kind of money for a high light and I cut, I could save you a little bit of money. I am at 4th Street Salon. ###-###-####. Highlights start at $75 (that is what it usually is unless you have REALLY long hair that is SUPER thick!) and my cuts are $25. I will be going up on my prices after August 1st. I am a Certified Redken Specialist and will be a Master Specialist in June. From Richland Hills, we are about a 30-35 min trip and as a new Mom that is just a luxury! If I don't have the same schedule as you, we do have 3 other stylists that probably will be able to accomodate a schedule that is better suited. I work Wed-Fri 10-6 and Sat. 10-2. Give us a call and we will be happy to see you.

Hey A.,
I go to Hightower Salon. My sister-in-law cuts and colors better than anyone I have been to. I always get compliments on it. Her name is Dee Moore and it is off Rufe Snow and Hightower. I hope that helps. I drive all the way from Arlington to go there. L.

I have personally neber been there, but I recently started going to the Ogle School by NE Mall. The instructor stands over and fixes any mistakes. I got a cut and color for $40. Turned out well. I'm going to go back for high-lights. Be prepared to be there a while, they are a little slow, being students and all.
