Decorating a Play Room

We painted our playroom in a flat paint and picked a different shade to paint polka dots on one accent wall in a glossy paint. It turned out very cute. We also bought little shadow boxes from IKEA and put candy in each one to hang on the wall. We get a lot of compliments on it.

Some of the things I have used are the following:

a folding gym mat for the floor
a table and chaira for kids
book case
storage for toys
a tv with stand that is very sturdy
for videos

A theme, like zoo or farm animals framed art so you can change the theme as they grow and discover their interests. I would just paint the walls a lively color and leave it at that.

I have found that the most important feature is space for kids to dance and pull out the toy of the moment.

I used wall decals (a big tree on one wall and a quote on another wall) in conjunction with other things. My son is 2 years old and loves to go up and touch the leaves and talk about the tree in his room. I got the tree off of etsy.com and the quote came from Hobby Lobby. I LOVE decals!
