Hello! My son is 3 1/2 and will turn 4 on March 27th. I would like to find a preschool/daycare type environment for him. I need care from 7 AM to 5:30 PM. I really want to find a place that has a structured day and includes school like curriculum, but still has nap time. Any suggestions? We live on Frankford between Coit and Hillcrest and would like to find something fairly close in that area since my husband and I travel in two different directions and one will drop off and the other will pick up. Thanks in advance for your help.

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I've looked at them all and they are all great choices. I was wondering if anyone has knowledge (good or bad) of the Garden Crest Private School at 17501 Davenport, Dallas, TX 75252. It's really close to where we live which would make it easy for Me to drop of and Mike to pick up.

PISD has a REALLY great preschool. I think you guys would be in the Beaty Early Childhood School. That's the one my son went to and he loved it. They only do 1/2 day programs, however, but there are daycares that drop off and pick up from the school. I can't remember which ones do, but the school would know. It's a PISD school, so you have all certified public school teachers teaching PISD curriculum. It's a great experience and preparation for PISD elementary. Congrats on going to school. If you're interested in Montessori, my daughter (almost 2) goes to Pebblecreek Montessori off Coit and Spring Creek. It's an incredible school, very traditional, and the kids learn so much. They have a variety of programs from 1/2 day to full day and all year montessori.

I'm finishing my last year at Texas Woman's University in their graduate program of occupational therapy. My mom got her nursing degree from TWU. It's a great choice. Good luck!

I would suggest Bent Tree Child Development Center near Trinty Mills and the Tollway. They have a great preschool program with a structured environment and curriculum for the 3 and 4 year olds. They have manners lessons, computer as well as other curriculum activities. Check them out for your self. My 2 year old goes their and we have been very happy. I can't say enough about their program. Not sure if it is on your way to work but would highly recommend them. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi B.,
Welcome to Texas. I live in Frisco, right around the corner formt he college you will be attending. Which ever school you select, be sure to check them out Dept, family services.http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child...

My son goes to Windhaven Day School in Plano. It's right off the Dallas North Tollway, which I'm sure you will take to get to school. It's a Christian based school in that they teach prayer before eating, they pledge allegence to the flag every morning and teach that right and wrong come from God. But they don't push religion on the kids, they don't read the bible, but it's a foundation they work from. The curriculum is A Becka. My son is 3 1/2. It's a structured program, including spanish, computer classes, etc. Every 30 minutes the kids are up and doing a different activity. We transferred from a typical daycare last year, and can really see a difference between daycare and day school. Good luck. D.

Hi B.! My 2.5 year old son attends Preston Kiddie Kollege in Frisco, and absolutely loves it there! We are really happy with their structured program. He has learned a lot in the six months he's attended! Good luck finding something that works for you!
