I see a lot of people refer to him for paying of debt and saving money - but which Dave Ramsey book do you get?...and do you need the workbook?

What can I do next?

Total Money Makeover. We loved the audio version because we don't have as much time to read as we'd like- also his passion comes across better and really inspired us.

You can listen to his radio show, which we love, for free from his website- both live and archived material.

All you need is a book-I used Financial Peace. But the newer book is TMM.

Doesn't matter....just follow the Baby Steps. I did not need or use the workbooks or any "extras".

p.s. Debt free INCLUDING the house!

If you take the Financial Peace University class they give you the book, Financial Peace Revisited. I guess that's the updated version. The class is REALLY good. It's $100, but you will recoup that using just some of his suggestions. It meets weekly for about 16? weeks. Not sure exactly; it's about a semester. You can find out more at his website: http://www.daveramsey.com/home/
You can read a little about how the class helped me here:

I really recommend the class - but that's probably obvious!

Read "Financial Peace Revisited" and "Total Money Makeover"

I highly suggest attending Financial Peace University- they are held at churches and organizations all over the country- go to his website to find a location. My husband & I went and we absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED it. We could not wait for the next class week after week. It is so informative, inspiring, and motivating. Most importantly, we have had tons of emergencies this year and have always had the money to cover them because we are smarter about budgeting and saving now. We are on the road to financial peace and it feels so good!

We also bought tickets to his Total Money Makeover live seminar iin Dallas in October and we are so excited! We are such Dave Ramsey fans... even our kids are on the Financial Peace University Jr. program and they absolutely love earning 'commission', saving up for things, etc.

I can't say enough good things about Dave's programs!

I read Total Money Makeover, which really inspired me, but soon after got to attend Financial Peace University. If you can go (or buy the DVD's), I would strongly recommend it. It gives a much clearer picture of the whole process from the getting out of debt stage to the long term goal of being financially independent (read: not having to count on social security to survive when you're older). A lot of really good information!

Financial Peace-it's a great seminar if you can find some church in your area doing it this summer! He's pretty radical and I thought I'd sift through the things he said but I tried it, his way, for 6 months and will never go back. Thought I'd hate the "budget" but actually love it. It's a real eye-opener. Good luck!

I just finished the Financial Peace University - completely changed our life. We have paid off over $3,000 in debt in 4 months and are well on our way to being debt free. The class was well worth the money, but if you can't do it, then go to the library and check out the books, and see if you can get a copy of the audio CD's from someone in your area who has done it. SO WORTH IT!!!!

The Total Money Makeover is the practical step by step guide to getting out of debt. Financial Peace University classes are also fabulous, and it's easy to find a class in most areas. I love Dave! Thanks to him and my fabulous husband we are DEBT FREE!!!!!
