Why do you like your child's preschool? Our daughter is almost 2, and we are thinking about changing preschools after her next birthday. We would like to keep her in a school close to where we live in Danville on the border of San Ramon. There are so many different schools it is hard to find a starting point.

Look into Fountainhead Montessori in Danville. My children have attended the one in Dublin for over 4 years and it's great. I'm sure the Danville one runs the same way. They have a nice philosophy and I think the kids come out ahead of it all when (if) they enter into public school.

Hi A.-
We sent out twins to the Danville Montessori when they were 2. The kids do not need to be potty trained. THe school is located on Camino Ramon. We really loved the school, better yet the twins loved the school. The teachers were great and the curriculum was a good balance of academics and playing. The negatives-expensive and sometimes the director of the school was too focused on money. We never had issues with her, but other families did.

The twins entered Kindergarten this year (public school) and are academically way ahead (they both read, spell, write, perform addition and subtraction), all learned from preschool.

GOod luck with your choice and hope this helps.

Hi A., my daughter went to Community Presbyterian Preschool in downtown Danville and we loved it! She's in Kindergarten this year and we really miss the school. The teachers are so loving and welcoming. Each child is greeted at the door with a good morning and a hug and they just love coming to school each day.

A good rescource for you might be www.eastbaypreschools.com. They have a breakdown of each school in the area so you can check age requirements, prices, and see their website.

Good luck!

Both of my kids went to Children's Academy in Danville and received an excellent education and a love of learning. The teachers all have a long tenure there and the director, Sue, is outstanding. They are a loving and caring school and the academics are very good too. Check them out!

We are going to Valley Parent Preschool on Camino Ramon. It is a co op, so I don't know if that works for you, but it is a fun school. There is a great group of teachers and parents to interact with. Their philosophy is that children learn through play, so there is a lot of guided play, not too much structured academics. I think you have to be 3. So, depending on what you want to get out of preschool, it might work for you. Negatives: it is only half day, so if you are looking for child care, it won't work, and if you are looking for something really academic, you won't like this.
