Crossover Vehicle

We are looking to purchase a new car, and I really like the crossovers. Does anyone have feedback to offer on the following models:
GMC-Acadia
Chevy-Traverse
Mazda-CX-9
Chrysler-Pacifica
Honda-Pilot (even though this one isn't a crossover, it's a consideration).

We are looking for something that seats more than 5. I don't really want an SUV, and I'm not sure I'm "ready" for a minivan. Thanks for your feedback!

What can I do next?

I loved my pacifica. It had my van seating but was not a van. I had kids early and decided I didn't want a van anymore but I wasn't ready to move up to a SUV with the price of gas. Mine had wonderful leather seats which made for easy clean up. I loved the storage in the back. I have 2 full time kido's and my step daughter comes down in the winter and summer. This made it perfect for my family of 4, when they kids had friends over, and when my step-daughter came down. Besides I loved being able to take bikes to the park and or for those big grocery trips. The mileage was great. Most of all the kids loved how comfortable it was.

I havn't had much experience with the others but i am a true chrysler fan. When I decided to go bigger I stepped up the the Chrylser Aspen - I never had any issues with either. Good luck

We just went through this ourselves... and all of the above were considerations with a few others... the Acadia was my favorite - just out of my price range. The Pilot I really like but only the 2009 model was a little bigger. The Pacifica only seats 6 and they don't make them anymore.. the Chevy Traverse is essentially the same as the Acadia (and the Saturn Outlook) - the Mazda seemed small. You need to go test drive some of these and get a feel for them.

We ended up with a Volvo XC90 - long story - best deal.

I'm not sure why websites call the Acadia a crossover. It's basically the same thing as my Envoy, although bigger and gets worse gas mileage. Although when you get it totally loaded, it's a pretty sweet ride. :) About the only thing that makes the Acadia a 'crossover' is the longer wheel base and the car frame, but it actually looks A LOT like my Envoy (only bigger). ;)

I absolutely LOVE my Pilot. I downsized from an Expedition (had tons of problems w/it) about two years ago. I was afraid that the Pilot would be too small, but it's been great. It has 40,000 miles on it and not one problem. Even though I love the look of the Acadia I will probably get another Pilot, only this time the Touring model (wasn't available when I got mine).

Good luck!

I test drove the Traverse at the state fair and LOVED it. I also like the pilot. I would go with the pilot as it being a honda but thats just me.
