I can google crock pot recipes all day long...but I need the ones that families really like!

Can you give me your favorite ones?

I'm going grocery shopping as soon as I pick the kids up from school, so in another hour or so...and I want to grab some things for our busy nights.

The kids have activities on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Thursday's. We don't have time to cook anything that takes more than 30 minutes on these nights...but the crock pot needs to become my buddy :).

What's your family's FAVORITE crcok pot dish?

Hubby loves this:

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/slow-cooker-carnitas/detail....

And this to go with it:http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mexican-rice-i/detail.aspx?e...

Add a side of beans and some guac and chips, (alton brown has my favortie gauc recipe), and you are set.

I cut up the onions for the rice when doing the crock pot prep, and just set everything out before hand. I also put a layer of onions on the bottom of the crock pot just to add extra flavour.

Pot roast
3-5 lb roast on top of sliced onions
1 envelope of Ranch dressing
1 envelope of Italian dressing
1 envelope of beef gravy
1 cup of water (I use beef broth)
I also add red wine to taste
Cook on high for about 8 hours and serve. I serve it with white rice but I guess you can use mashed potatoes, noodles or something else.
If you have leftovers, shred the beef, wrap in corn tortillas softened on hot oil, use a tooth pick to secure and fry them for some delicious beef flautas.
Enjoy!

My husband's favorite crock pot meal is turkey meatballs with a can of cream of chicken soup (mixed with some milk). Whip up some Uncle Ben's 5 minute rice and top with the meatballs. Quick, easy and yummy.

BBQ BEEF
Get a 2 lb beef chuck roast and put it in the crockpot set to high. Mix an envelope of onion soup mix with a half cup of water and dump it on top. Cook for about 5 hours or until its easy to shred. Remove roast from pot and place into serving dish where you can shred it and add your fave BBQ sauce to taste. (We like Sweet Baby Ray's) If the mixture seems too thick add a little of the broth from the crockpot in with the meat. You can serve this on rolls, hamburger buns or even a baked potato.

ROAST BEEF
You can use another 1-2 lb chuck roast for this one. Put the meat in set to (low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6) coarsely chop some carrots, potatoes and onions and throw them on top of the meat. Mix a packet of brown gravy mix and a packet of ranch dressing mix together in a cup of water and dump that on top of everything. Its oh so good :)

I have also used my crockpot to slowcook chicken breast or chicken thighs seasoned with mexican seasonings for enchiladas. Veggie beef soup is another easy and tasty recipe to try.

Italian Beef

2-3 lbs roast
1 package Au Jus Gravy
1 package Italian Dressing
3 tbs pepperochinos

Heat on low 8-10 hours and serve on rolls or buns. Yum, yum, yum!

I use recipes from the "Fix it and Forget for Diabetics." My mom bought it for me, because the recipes tend to be healthier. Lower in sugar, fats and sodium. We really like the "Chicken and Noodles" and the "Aztec Chicken."

We love "taco soup"/ chicken tortilla soup.

chicken breast or thigh (fresh or frozen, doesn't really matter because it won't over cook)
1 can of stewed tomatoes (whole or diced whatever)
1 or 2 cans of beans (black or red or pinto, your choice)
bag of frozen corn (a can could work too)
box of chicken broth
envelope of taco seasoning
Enough water to bring the liquid to the top of the other ingredients.

Cook on med all day (maybe 10 hours) or high for 4 hours then turn down for a couple hours.

When you get home, use two large forks to pull the chicken (and tomatoes if you use whole ones) apart into shreds/pieces (falls really easily) then let it keep cooking or sit on warm until you're ready to eat.

Serve with whatever you like on tacos. We put tortilla chips at the bottom of the bowl then spoon soup over and top with sour cream and/or cheese.

Pork sliders!

Pork roast seared on both sides, then put in a crock pot with 1/2 cup of water and a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce. On low for 5 hours, or medium for 6. Shred the pork when done and use buns or tortillas with pickles or onions. Yummy, simple, and CHEAP!

Well, I am just trying it for the first time today, so I won't know how it will turn out, but I am making chicken parmesan in the crock pot.

Rub 1 Tb olive oil on the inside surface of the crock pot. Dip chicken breasts in egg, than a mixture of Italian bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Place in crock pot, top with mozzarella cheese, then marinara sauce. Cook for 3 to 4 hours on high, or 6 to 8 hours on low. Serve with pasta.

There is also a crock-pot cook book called "Fix It and Forget It!" - I get a lot of good recipes from there!

ETA: Turned out pretty good! But next time I will save some mozzarella to top the chicken at the end so I have ooey-gooey melted-cheese yumminess on top, instead of it all being mixed at the start and essentially "disappearing".

ETA

My children and husband like beef stew.

A pound or two stew beef, 3 jars of beef gravy, diced potatoes, baby carrots, peas. You can precook the beef or just throw it in the crock pot along with everything else. I add some water. I think about a jar and a half. You can allow this to cook all day on low or 4 hours or so on high. Easy.

I recently made 'Turkey in a Pot' which is a recipe I found on allrecipes. It was delicious.

We also like to make chicken for tacos. Four to six chicken breasts, a packet of taco seasoning (or make your own), a large can of crushed tomatoes, a can of Rotel. Shred the chicken after it is done and stuff your tacos or make a salad.
