Crocheting in Mesquite

I am trying to relearn to crochet. I started a blanket about 4 years ago and would like to get it finished. The problem is the new one (the circle) I start does not look like the other ones I already have for the blanket. I already have about 40 circles so I really do not want to have to start completely over. Is there anyone out there that would like or mind helping me get started the right way or even the wrong way as long as the circles match. LOL Thank you for any help.

What can I do next?

There is a wonderful store in Plano called "The Wooly Ewe". Pay them a visit. They are very supportive and they have a round table in the shop where people sit and knit or crochet. They are happy to offer advice. HTH, Nana

D.,

If the stitches look the same, but the circles are looking different, it may be that the tension that you are using while holding the yarn is a little different. If this is the case try holding more loosly or tightly as you are crocheting.

If you neeed help remembering the stitches, or reading the pattern, I can help but need more info. to get you there. Messange me, and I'll either help you through it or give you my number and talk you through it. I'm in North Richland Hills and have 3 kiddos, so driving out to Mesquite would be tough, but it shouldn't be too hard to talk you through it.

Hi, D.!
I have done the same thing and it is frustrating!!
If you can't get the circles duplicated, can you put the 40 together that you have and then crochet a different design around them to make it the size you want? It would be different than the one you started to make several years ago, but would work.
And it definitely would be a unique design!!
Good Luck and let us know how it turns out!
Linda

HI D.,
Here's a question. Did you crochet the circle from a pattern or just off the top of your head. If it is something that you did off the top of your head then we could try and decipher the stitches used with the knowledge we have of crocheting or if its a pattern we could possibly find it to finish it. You could also stitch together the 40 circles you already have and make it a lapghan rather than a full blanket. It will save you from having to figure out the pattern and you won't lose the 40 circles you already started.
By the way, I have a local crochet group. It is a little slow right now but will pick up soon.
