I love Ebay for selling baby items. My daughter is now 3, and I have no plans of any more children, so Ebay has been wonderful for me. I've sold baby clothes, toys, bassinet, baby gear, everything through there. The only drawback is having to go to the post office, BUT, to me it's well worth it. I have a system of selling her old clothes on there, and I make enough to buy for the new season. Selling old toys on there, pays for her new ones. I have also done 'local pick-up only' for larger items with great success. Good luck!!

I've tried all 3 as well as selling at yard sales. It seems as though a private classified ad in the local newspaper got the best result for us. When it comes to craigslist and ebay, there is an overwhelming amount of people trying to sell similar, if not the same, items. Consignment shops take out their cut and leave you with little to no profit. It's tough and sometimes it just seems better to give the items away to Goodwill or Salvation Army for people you know need them. GL selling!

I've never used a consignment shop. I've purchased from a consignment shop but not used.

If I was looking for fast money - I did Craiglslist and listed a "lot". if I was looking for serious money - more than $25 for them - I used ebay. I still use ebay and craigslist to unload my unused/unwanted items.

On ebay - your first 100 listings are "free" but you have to pay a 9% final value fee. which sucks. ebay you can sell world wide - although NOT to Italy - they have clothing restrictions....BUYER pays shipping.

On Craigslist - it's free - no fees, no hassles - really. Craigslist is local. I would suggest you meet in a mall or parking lot.

Either Craigslist or ebay requires GOOD to GREAT pictures in order to get people to look. The title line is VERY important - for example

LOT infant girls clothes 3-6 months GAP outfits sets
A "LOT" signifies you have at least five items in the listing.

It helps if you have "name brand" items. If you have maternity clothes:

LOT Maternity clothes 10-12 Pea in Pod

The benefits of a consignment shop is all you have to do is drop them off. depends on the level of effort you want to extend

I use eBay to sell NEW items (with or without tags) because I can get more $ for them. I use craigslist for big/bulky items that I can't (or don't want to) ship. I have used consignment shops before, but they don't hardly give you any $ to make it worthwhile.
Good luck and let us know where you had the most success.

I pass mine down to friends & family members, but have recently been introduced to threadup.com. You might want to check that out. It is an exchange website for clothes, you only pay for shipping. They will send you the free USPO boxes for deliveries. A box crammed w/ clothes is about $10 to ship.

We always donate the clothes/toys to Good Will or some other type of donation place (we have a House of Hope in town). You can get more when you write it off for taxes than you'd actually get in cash . . .

I started ebaying after taking a bagful of toddler shoes to a consignment shop. What they wanted to give me was a joke.
I use Craigslist for large, bulky stuff/toys/gear and ebay for higher end kids clothes.

Try Just Between Friends (JBF) - a consignment sale that takes place a couple of times a year, you hang and tag your clothes and get 70%. I have been doing JBF for several years and I always make great money! You can go to their website to find the sale closest to you.
