Sorry I just know everyone LOVES this subject line. ;)

So my question kinda of deals with it.

How long after doing the deed can you tell if you are pregnant? Did you know within days? Have a gut feeling? Morning sickness? I know they say wait until after a missed period to take a test, but do you really have to wait that long?

What have your past experiences been?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Sorry Rachel. I'm not trying nor do I think I am. I was wondering basically if women knew before even peeing on the stick?

Love the stories. I knew right away because the smell of soda made me sick every time. It was like I would smell the soda and think yep I'm pregnant and it was true every time.

For me, I pretty much knew that I was pregnant before we even had sex, because I know my cycle like the back of my hand, and we don't use any artificial birth control--so, if we were about to have sex on days 14, 15 & 17, yes, I was probably going to be pregnant :)

I got pregnant on March 29th and I KNEW a few days later.. we were sort-of trying, I passed a HPT when I was only 2 weeks pregnant (like 2 weeks before a missed period) my OB thought I was crazy (I'm high risk so they saw me right away) he did an US and sure enough there was a pregnancy (not even a heartbeat yet lol) so I was told to come back like 2 weeks later and they confirmed the heartbeat and now I've only got 2 1/2 weeks to go!

Seriously, who cares if the poster asks these questions? Why respond with a snarky remark?

Obviously the poster is not an idiot, she's clearly been pregnant 4 times :-)

With my first one I felt what I thought was PMS at about 10-12 days and it turned out I was pregnant (I knew the exact day we conceived). My second I don't remember the early symptoms but by 4-6 weeks I figured it out and must have gotten pregnant the first time (or at least first cycle) we tried.

The first one I started having symptoms like 3 1/2 weeks after (dizziness and boobs hurting/heavy) my second I had symptoms probably about the same time 3 weeks but it was that awful nausea and dizziness. you can usually test (with certain ones) days before your period.

With our oldest, I have no idea until my husband said "Babe, I'm thinking you're pregnant"...and I said "no I'm on the pill and we used a condom"...

So he knew before I did, and I was pretty much in denial until the puking started!

We our second we said "let's try"...and I was pretty sure the instant we tried once, I was preggo...I can tell you that it took two weeks to get a postive test and I know I was ovulating the first try!

Well with my last pregnancy I knew when I was only two weeks along. Not because of any symptoms or anything. Just a wierd feeling. We weren't trying or anything, in fact we were done or so we thought. Even the nurses at the dr's office couldn't believe I realized I was pregnant so soon. With my other three pregnancies (one miscarriage) I didn't know until after I missed a period and had symptoms. So this one was kind of strange. :)

Yes I knew with both before I peed on the stick. I was extremely sick starting at 3 weeks with both of them and that is what prompted me to pee on the stick.

I remember getting a wave of nausea while I was cleaning from the product odors. Only later did I connect the dots...I think I was about 2 weeks along.

I had a positive test 6 days before my missed period (of a 28 day cycle) :-) But NO physical symptoms other than peeing a lot-but I was also drinking a lot (of water, that is.) :-)

I have had three pregnancies...my first two I didn't find out till well into my 6th weeks so 2 weeks past missed period. My third I new before I even missed my period but I had hyperemesis my hormones were well above normal for a typical pregnancy. I was miserable throwing up at least 10 times a day from 3.5 weeks till nearly 38 weeks.

So really you cannot tell until at least missed period time unless you are up for a really , really bad pregnancy.

With all three...no boob soreness, or anything like that till at least 7weeks or more. Just sore wrists which were always an early sign of pregnancy for my kids.

I knew the minute i concieved that I was pregnant. I had a very real personal experience and I waited a few weeks and it was confirmed. My second child was planned and I knew the minute my sense of smell changed. I knew at 2 weeks with him, and then the super duper suprise pregnancy. The one I am in now---did not know--took tests, several and they were negative. then was really, really sick and took one for peace of mind--and whoa! Pregnant!!!!! I was shocked. This time I didn't find out til I was 6 weeks. So, yes very possible to know you are before but not guaranteed every pregnancy. Each preg. is different. I have felt soooo different in this last one then my previous two--so maybe carrying a girl???

Even my test never showed until after my missed period, and with my middle son, it took 3 test before it came out positive, with a week in between each test...
