I'm a new mom returning to work shortly. I'm curious as to what the going rate is for daycare in someone's home. I'm looking for in-home daycare in my area (Plainfield / Shorewood / Minooka area.) All responses would be greatly appreciated.

I found that generally the going rate is $175 a week. Providers vary on vacation time/ days off when you do not have to pay. Some give you 1 or 2 weeks a year. Some require you to pay for holidays, others do not.

My caregiver gives me 2 weeks a year when I can take time off (with advance notice) and I do not have to pay. I also do not pay her for holidays or her days off.

Hi, I live in Minooka and have a home daycare. I have a lot of experience taking care of children. I have been a night nanny/nurse for many years. I have a degree in ECE, and have taught Preschool for 10 years. I know how difficult it is to find someone to watch your child when you are working. This is why I choose to do this, so I can be home with my children and still do what i love, teach. If this is something that interests you please call me so we can talk more. M. ###-###-####

Hi S.,
I totally understand your hesitation. I am a first time mom to and really struggled with this decision too. I did some research when I thought I was returning to work and it's about 50$/daily.

Hi S.,
I live in Joliet and have been doing daycare for 6 yrs. I charge 150.00 a week for infants. I am also the Referral Coordinator for the Family Childcare Network. We are a group of Licensed Daycare Home Providers in Will County. If you would like to email me at ____@____.com I could possibly find someone for you for the fall. Good Luck in finding care but make sure you choose a person who is Licensed for this job.

I found that the going rate is between $150-$190 per week. I do have a referral for you as well. Lauren Fruscione provided daycare for my chi ldren from the time they were 12 weeks old until she moved to Minooka last year. She has been doing daycare for a long time and is great with the kids. She is reasonable in her price and if she takes off time (holidays etc.) she doesn't charge you. Her phone number is ###-###-####. Good luck in your search.

We'll pay $135 a week in January. That's for a highly qualified stay at home mom with her own 2 kids to watch our infant and a possible other child. 5 days a week 10 - 11 hour days.
