I've just started using Clinique after 11 years of using Merle Norman. Visit the Clinique counter (Dillard's or Macy's)and they will do a free consultation. Their 3 step cleansing program is amazing!! :)

I see someone else already told you about Arbonne.

I would also reccomend the Virtual Illusion Make Up Primer from Arbonne. It gives you a smooth start and also helps reduce oil. It will also, hold your make up on longer.

Hope this info helps!

Thanks!

Hey N.!

I have to tell you that I completely love MAC make-up!! I combination skin that is very dry in spots, then greasy and oily every where else, especialy when I am sweaty in the summer time. I used to get LOTS of break outs becuase of this. I tried MAC back in college for theatre stuff becuase all of the other make ups and such would break me out like crazy, and some I was allergic to. I loved it so much that I transitioned to their street make up and never looked back.

I use their "Studio Fix" powder which is a powder that goes on like a base, so it is SUPER light!! and it lasts ALL DAY including sweating out side playing with my son or even at work! I use lots of other products of theirs and have not found one that dont like. It is not any more expencive than the bare minerals that you are using now, but for me, it lasts longer and is more worth my money. (oh, and I have tried the bare minerals also, but still like this better. It feels nice and light too, but it lasts longer durring the day and on into the night. ) I dont like to use the Mary Kay make up as it tends to get slimey and clog my pores when I seat, and I break out more with that.

You definately need to have a good cleaning regimine, and every single one of the Mary Kay ladies on here and Avon will probably shoot me for saying this. . . .though I DO like to use their cleaning products, I find that my skin does best with the "Huggies" wash cloths. It is a cloth with the baby soap already in it. just at water, foam and wash. When done, just toss the cloth. My skin seems to stay more even (not too dry/not too oily) when I clean this way verses trying to figure out which cleaner and what not to use. (Mary Kay and Avon ladies, please do not send me any hate mail for saying this. You both have products that I love and use daily, this is simply my oppenion on which cleaners and make up that I use.)

I hope this helps! I know how frusterating this can be. GOOD LUCK!!

Steph

Mary Kay has an oil mattifier that helps absorb the oil and prevent it from showing during the day so you don't have to reply your makeup. It is $15 and once on it feels like your face has a thin layer of powder on that smooths the skin slightly. It's great during the summer.
Contact a Mary Kay Rep or email me I can put you in contact with one. The product costs $15.

Try glo minerals or Jane iredale. Both are mineral makeups but better than bare minerals. My dermatologist recommended both brands to me. I am also oily and acne prone. Jane iredale is a better product than glo minerals but glo minerals is cheaper. Good luck!

Hi N.,

I own a fully-stocked Mary Kay business, and I'll share with you a couple of products that I think would help you. I use, on a daily basis, a combination of a tinted moisturizer and mineral powder foundation. The tinted moisturizer is so light, it's like a really sheer foundation and so it never feels goopy. It does, however, even out skin tone, provides a little bit more of a base, as well as SPF 20 coverage. On top of that, I put a light layer of mineral powder foundation, because I love the texture, the finish, and the oil absorbing properties of the mineral powder. Mary Kay has a great touch up product, Beauty Blotters, that are wonderful to carry in your purse for oil absorption during the day, as needed. My website is www.marykay.com/karlahess. There you can access further contact information. I'd love to help you.

I think mineral makeup is definatley the way to go however, bare minerals any many other companies use bismuth (bismuth oxychloride) as an ingredients which is a known skin irritant. Bismuth give a "pearl" effect but can cause itchiness, redness, breakouts, excessive oil production and so on. Especially when out in the sun. I struggled for many years to find a makup that would not cause problems with my skin. Well If you want something done right sometimes you have to do it yourself. So that's what I did :) My company is Sheer Naturals and I make a line of mineral makeup free from dyes, chemical fillers, talc, bismuth, and preservatives. Similar to Jane Iredale but half the price. I'd love to send you some free samples or I do free in home makeovers, so you can try it before deciding to buy. I have tons of references if you'd like that also.
Here is what one customer recently posted "Since I believe that we should be supporting one another on here whenever possible, I recently ordered makeup from a fellow HSG member, C. Strimel. She has created a line of mineral makeup called Sheer Naturals which I started using a few weeks ago. I just want to share that I LOVE this makeup! Before trying it, I had been using Bare Minerals for about 2 years. I was happy with the product until I learned that it contains some nasty chemicals, though they market it as "pure minerals". I decided to try C.'s product, which does not contain any of these chemicals, and hoped that I would like it as well as I had Bare Minerals. To my surprise, it is so much nicer! It takes about a minute to apply and looks flawless. I have oily skin and used to have to "dab" the oil off periodically throughout the day, and then reapply my makeup. With this foundation, though, I simply apply it in the morning and find that my skin looks terrific all day. I especially love her pink radiance veil which, as it promises, really does give my skin a healthy glow. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with these products"

I also was just featured on barfoot mommies blog if you'd like to read more here is the link: http://www.barefootmommies.com/2009/06/sheer-naturals-min...

I really don't mean to "sell" myself to you but I am extremly passionate about this subject. I would be happy to talk to you more if you have the interest.

Thanks,
C.

I'm an oily complexion, too. I use Arbonne International liquid foundation. They have minerals, too, but I prefer the application of a liquid.

The key for me has not been the foundation but the oil absorbing powder called "Mattifying Powder." It is so 'thin' that it can go under or over your foundation or powder. I touch up only a couple times a day, and my makeup no longer 'slides' or looks caked at the end of the day.

contact me for order details and a 20% discount.
have a great summer,

I also have pretty oily skin that tends to sweat especially in the warmer months. I've tried a ton of makeup and realized I hate liquid foundation. I've settled on the LAURA GELLER baked powder/foundation. It comes in fair and regular/medium depending on the tone of your skin. Order the one that comes with her brush, it's great. I find that I don't sweat as much in it and when I do the makeup doesn't feel caky. Definitely makes my life easier. You can either get it through Sephora or QVC.

I've been a clinique user since I was about 12yrs old. The products are also recommended by leading dermatologists (sp). I am 47 and I pass for early 30's. My 14yr old daughter uses Clinique on a regular basis as well. Our leading Dr is Allen Menter and his PA's. In my opinion.. He is top notch in the DFW area.

We are faithfull with our skin care routines,

All Clinique counters have a return policy if you so not like the product. It is NO pressure as you find with some MLM products.

Best wishes! TF

What you are using to CLEANSE your face is just as important, if not more, than the foundation you put ON it as far as how oily you are getting during these warmer months. I would be more than happy to assist you if you would like my guidance. All first time orders are 20% off and shipping is always free. With a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if you aren't happy with the products, you return them and get your money back...nothing to lose but perhaps something to gain! Hi N.,
I too have oily skin. I use everyday minerals. They offer a matte finish that I love. You might want to try it out. They offer a free sample kit (you do pay for shipping). I was sold on it after trying it out. I have an olive tone that is hard to match and they helped me out in that dept as well ") They also are VERY affordable. https://www.everydayminerals.com/

I don't have oily skin but my face sweats ALOT, even my eyelids, chin forehead, all of it. I have found that Mary Kay's mineral line works very well and stays put and even helps with the sweat problem. I use their mineral loose powder and mineral blush and mineral eyeshadows and I am very happy with all of them. I don't use liquid foundation but they also have a very light but good coverage liquid foundation that I hear good things about. I also switched to using an oil free lotion with sunblock (also Mary Kay) so I didn't have to use heavy sunblock on my face and that helps with the sweat also. Good Luck!
