Constant Period

Since Cristmass I have had my period every other week or every two weeks. I have been under a large amount of stress for the last year and I know that can mess with your cycle but this seems more than stress. I finished my period the Tuesday before Christmass. The next Tuesday I started bleeding again. Later on I realized it was from intercourse. The next tuesday I started my cycle again. And it's been going on like that since then. I realized that when my husband and I have incourse I bleed. Usually a little afterward or a lot when we start.
I do have a twisted falopian tube and I don't know if that could cause any of it. I've had a little pain in my lower sides but nothing bad. I know going to the Dr. seems like the obvious answer but due to no insurance and having other pressing issues that come up when I try to go I can't go this week for sure.
A friend of mine thinks it's premenopause but I think my symtoms are too wierd for that. I was just wondering if anyone else has had anything like this happen before. I've become beyond scared and have so many other things to deal with.
Hope that wasn't too much info and I thank anyone who could help.
Thank you

I would recommend getting seen by a health professional just to be on the safe side as it could be a variety of issues actually. In the meantime, to help with bleeding you may want to try Yarrow and Red Raspberry; they work wonders for female problems. If you want more information about them and how to use them, just send me a message and I'll be glad to tell you my personal issues and how they have helped me.

Hi B.,
I have the same exact problem, but mine started when I was 15, and I would get my period every other week. I went on birth control pills at that age and used them up until having my 3rd child at the age of 33. After that I had my tubes done and hoped the problem wouldn't return, but six months after I started having 14 day periods. The first time at 15 I had become anemic before the problem was addressed so this time I made my doctor give me options right away. I didn't want to take the pill any more so she suggested Mirena, which is an IUD which lasts 5 years at a time. About 8 months after having it put in, my periods stopped completely. I might have a little spotting, but so far it has been 5 or 6 months between these episodes. If you can't go to a GYN right now, you could maybe do Planned Parenthood or a walk in clinic and get a prescription for Birth Control. Don't let yourself become anemic because that could add many more problems to your health. I wasn't allowed to walk up and down stairs for a couple of weeks because they were afraid I might faint and fall down them. This time around they tested for pre-menopause and endometriosis and found nothing. They never did have a definitive reason why it was happening and I got tired of trying to remember to take the pill at the exact same time every day. If I forgot I would either start bleeding by the end of the day or have breakthrough bleeding after intercourse, so I know how tough this is on you. I really love having the Mirena because it is a lower dose, than the pill I needed to work, and I don't have to worry about the bleeding at all now. My husband loves that part too!:o) Also, the cost for the Mirena is a one shot deal when it is put in and I don't have to pay for the pills every month anymore (mine were $38 a month) or pads and tampons. I just keep one box of panty liners in the house. Whatever you decide, you do need to see a doctor to rule out any serious causes, but if they can't find any problems you still have options. Sorry this is so long but I hope this helps give you some options to look into, and eases some of your concern.

B.,
I had constant periods, no bleeding with intercourse though.
I had other symptoms too like migraine headaches with blackouts (not actually fainting or unconscious, but temporary periods of blindness). Thanks to an awesome obgyn, who ordered an MRI it was discovered I had adenomyosis (spelling?). It is the reverse of endomytreosis. I was done having children so the best fix was a hysterectomy. No problems or regrets since. You may want to do a little research, but I feel you should see the doctor. Whatever it is, you owe it to yourself & your children to take care of you. Good luck & I wish the best for you.

B. this happened with my sister and she end up having to have surgery to have a partial histerectomy. It worked wonders for her, her kids are older and she was completely done and now she doesn't even have a cycle (i'm so jealous) the only down fall is that she has to take hormone pills but she says it worth it considering everytiime she had a cycle she had to wear depends and constantly come home to change her clothes and with the depends on. Good Luck

It sounds like Endometriosis. The ony symptom you are missiing is the pain. Regardless of cost, you really need to get to the DR and get this looked at!! I've had two girlfriends diagnosed with it, one is 20 and no kids and she had very mild symptoms but has had the problems since she was 16!!! My other friend is late 20's and 3 kids and she had it very bad. She lost a lot of weight afterwads and regained a bunch of energy due to not having all the blood loss!!

Good luck!

I had similiar symptoms in my mid 30s after losing a pregnancy to a fibroid (benign) tumor in my uterus. Fibroids can cause constant or intermitten bleeding. I had a myomectomy (surgery to remove the fibroid) and the bleeding stopped. You really need to see a doctor, because too much blood loss will make you feel fatigue. You will also have peace of mind. Perhaps your doctor can work out a payment plan with you.
Good luck.

hi B.,
although you may not want to go to the doctor this week, or not unless it's absolutely necessary...i would maybe give them a call, and at least run your symptoms by them over the phone...they may tell you they need to see you...they usually do, but tell them you only want to come if it sounds urgent...you don't want to let it go if it could be serious...good luck!

PLEASE go to the doctor about this. If it is happening everytime you have sex, there is something wrong. It could be something as simple as hormone imbalance to a tear that keeps getting stressed during sex. There could be something more to it as well.
At 18, I bled for 38 straight days. Hormones were messed up and they sort of fixed it, but they did find the rest of the issues I had and didn't know about.
Good luck!

Seeing as you don't have insurance, which I understand because I'm in the same boat, you should check out your local county clinic. It may seem weird for a married stay at home mom to have to go to a clinic for medical needs but they aren't just for pregnant teens and people looking to discretely get rid of an STD, they are there to provide affordable treatment for people who couldn't otherwise afford it. The people there can at least do a pap and look to see if anything is obviously out of place.

Please go to the doctor asap. You might have an ovarian cyst. I had one a few years ago that grew to 7cm and had almost constant periods. I was so tired of always being on a period and told my family dr. who then immediately referred me to an OB/GYN. She found the cyst and recommended it be removed because of the size. I had pain in the side as well. One hysterectomy later, I'm glad I did it. Good luck.

A constant period is not good. You may be losing too much Fe and that can be fatal. Are you starting to feel run down and are you losing weight without trying? If so, get to a Dr. fast.

Honestly I think you should go see a Dr. because you may have a serious problem. Waiting isn't going to cure it. See a Dr, Get well and worry about the bill later.
