Does anyone have any advice/thoughts about how long it takes to get pregnant once a Mirena IUD is removed? I've had it for about 2 years. Thanks!

What can I do next?

You should have a return to normal fertility as soon as the IUD is removed. This means you can get pregnant as soon as you ovulate. In order to have good "dates" for the pregnancy (to know when you are due) it is a good idea to have a couple of cycles before you conceive, but that is the only reason. There are no increased risks with conceiving immediately after IUD removal. Also, just a reminder that it takes several months for most women to become pregnant once they start trying, so don't be worried if it doesn't happen immediately.
Good luck,
M.

I got preg the month I had it removed. I just gave birth to my baby girl three weeks ago. I had it in for exactly one year. Good luck!

I got my IUD removed last June and I am expecting again in 2 weeks. I only received one period and that was it.

I tried that IUD and had it pulled after 4 months of spotting...and cramps. I got pregnant 5months after having it pulled no problems. The 5 months was just when we decided to try getting pregnant.

I had an IUD back in the day and I'm sure they are very different now and probably safer. I'm not old enough to have gone through the I think it was called the Dalcon shield but the seven and the T were the choices we had in the early 80s. Anyway I got pregnant the first month it had been removed!

i don't recommend this because as they forgot to tell me to not get pregnant so fast the pregnancy occurred in my tube. Hence I lost one, but then was still able to conceive three more times resulting in my two sons and a miscarriage. Good luck!
