So What Happened?

Thank you for mentioning the bathroom issue. I'm not comfortable with that either. I visited the school last week. They seem to have a good program and the staffs are nice too. However, they don't have a space for my daughter at the moment. We will try to see other places as well.

I just toured that facility last week and thought it was fine. It looks like they have a really good program. Their classes seem big to me but they are in ratio. Only one thing bothered me while I was there. It was potty break time for the 3 year old preschool class and they all went into the bathroom together and watched each other on the toilet -- with the door wide open for another class to watch as well. The bathroom is actually located in a 2 year old class room.

I know they are just 3 and it is probably not a big deal for them to see each other at this point, but by the end of the year they'll be 4 or almost 4 and it just seems like privacy is something they ought to be teaching them at this age. Not to mention it seems a bit unsanitary and chaotic to me.

This may not bother you. It could be my own issue. I just thought I'd mention it.

My friend pulled her daughter out of that location after she found several kids (including her daughter) playing unattended in the bathrooms. This was back in the fall.

We began our search early in the summer last year. The owner gave us a tour and answered all of our questions. Later that week, the director contacted us to help answer any additional questions we might have. We found Primrose West Allen to be the right place for us and started our girls in August 2010. We love the facility for so many reasons. The staff is incredible!!! The teachers and directors are so open to discuss any needs or issues. The open door policy is amazing – unlike most preschools. We love that learning is the focus rather than babysitting… It is a school that teaches and nurtures. We have our girls in the kindergarten program and the young toddler program. We have and will continue to recommend Primrose West Allen to any parents searching for a really strong learning and caring environment for their children.

primrose in west allen has been outstanding for our son. He started primrose at 3 months and we have seen his social, developmental and intellectual skills significantly increase in just a short 3 months. Most importantly each morning we drop him off he is always smiling and happy to see his teachers. Primrose is a warm, inviting environment and the entire staff is always very happy and willing to help in anyway possible. We would reccomend Primrose West Allen to any parent

This is a great school. My son has been here for 4 years now and has grown by leaps and bounds. The development both on a personality as well as academic front has been a joy. The staff is very caring, involved and cordial. When you see smiling and satisfied teachers, with a very low turnover that tells me a lot about the school. I would highly recommend this school to all. - lashiv

I too cannot say anything about that particular school but my daughter attends the Virginia location in McKinney and we love it. My daughter is only one year old, but they have had her involved since day one. She finger paints, colors, they have a singer come sing songs every Tuesday. They are pheanominal, I wouldn't take her anywhere else. They have a great curriculum, teach children manner, and good behavior.

In November 2009, I began looking for a closer school for my daughter to attend. She had started out in a daycare and was transferred to Primrose to have a more learning environment. I was pleased with the Primrose schools system and knew I wanted her to stay in, but needed to change schools. I looked at the Primrose West Allen and had the easiest transition possible. The staff was very friendly and the school was clean, just as I expected.

We transferred her to Primrose West Allen and it was the best choice I could have made for my daughter. The first day she was there, I was sent an email of her playing on the playground smiling. It was nice to know that they took the time to send me an email to show me she was having a good day and doing just fine.

The rooms are filled with supplies that the teachers use for projects!! I am greeted every morning at the door by a staff member and the teachers are very cheerful. I am very pleased and impressed with the weekly emails that have updates on what is the plan for the week as well as emails with pictures of the class involved in certain things. We have fun looking at those as a family and my daughter getting to see pictures of herself and her friends. It is appreciated!!

There have been two occasions where my daughter has started singing songs at home, one in Spanish, that she learned at school. It is good to know that what they are doing in school is being reinforced enough for her to bring the concepts, songs, etc home.

I also questioned the bathroom situation in regards to privacy. My daughter is almost 4 as well and once she moves up to the next classroom for 4 year olds, they have separate bathrooms. That made me feel better!!

I would highly recommend PRIMROSE WEST ALLEN to any parent looking for a school for their child. I really think you will be pleased!!!

I don't have experience with that specific Primrose, but my son has been enrolled in two other Primrose schools. They are wonderful and their curriculum cannot be beat. My son will be three at the end of this month and he is well above average in all areas of the curriculum. I attribute it to Primrose because they really work with the kids from an early age.
