Anyone have one or the other? Which do you like? Why? My husband wants one for his b-day and I'm going crazy reading reviews online... they seem to be pretty neck and neck. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

LOVE my Tassimo! We use it for coffee, tea and chocolate. It is perfect because we do not drink enough coffee to make full pots, and we prefer lattes and machiato's more anyway. I also like that we can order the expresso only pods online since we do not use the milk discs that come in the expresso packages you buy in the store.

I got my Keurig about a year ago and I LOVE it! It's very quick and convenient and since my husband doesn't drink coffee, we have less waste from making more than we need.

I love that it will also make iced tea, hot chocolate, etc. quickly and easily. Plus I can just brew hot water for quick oatmeal, soups, etc.

I really don't know anything about the Tassimo though, so I'm not sure how they compare.

I LOVE MY KEURIG!!!

I was just imagining me standing on a mountain while I shouted that to the world. I really love it. It is convenient and saves time and money in the long run because I am not making one pot, just one cup, so there is no waste.

I started with the smallest one, but got the next biggest with the water resevoir. It's handy for making tea, oatmeal, soup and so on. Just put whatever (tea bag, oatmeal) in the dish and put it under the spout without the K-Cup in it and push the button.

It's awesome!

I've had both and I prefer my Tassimo. It hasn't given me any problems, seems less bulky than the Keurig and it can froth milk (with milk discs). I remember that my Keurig seemed more messy and smelly (stale coffee smelly) than my Tassimo which is easier clean up. Also, a couple of parts on my Keurig broke (this also happened to a friend of mine). The company did replace the parts for free, but still the hassle of calling customer service, waiting for the parts to arrive, etc.
Good Luck!

My brother has the Keurig but I can't remember why. I think only one of them you can use regular coffee in.

I got my first Keurig when you could only get them online. No one carried them much less had a clue what a K-cup was!

It finally died and this one I got at Target. I'm sure they are all the same, but a friend of mine said that if you buy direct from Keurig, IF something wears out, they will replace it. I didn't know that, but as I said, mine was several years old.

Personally, I would not order the k-cups from Keurig. Well, again, now you can get them everywhere. But I was a 'platinum' member and realized as soon as I hit the 'place order' button I had made a mistake. Called customer service literally within 5 minutes and was told too bad, so sad. On the occasion I do order online instead of just pick up in a local retail market I go to Green Mountain which still has a wonderful selection and much better customer service.

I have a Tassimo and I love it. I am the only coffee drinker in my house, but they do make teas (my husband uses it for that) and hot chocolates. Oh, you can also run plain hot water.

The big difference is with Tassimo...a lot of the drinks come with a separate second disc that you run into your mug after the coffee or espresso that adds the frothy milk.

I don't think the Keurig can put the hot frothy milk in your espresso, macchiato, or hot chocolate. I really like the extra touch of the hot frothy milk.

My mom got her 1st Keurig right before my son was born. Her 2nd one just died. My son is 17 months old.
My mom has taken good care of both of them and both of them were the top of the line ones.
If you don't mind having to buy a new one every 9 months or so...go for it.
When it works-it makes great coffee.
But if you don't have lots of money to throw away...I'd skip it.
My mom will not be getting another. ;)

Sorry, I don't have any experience w/ the Tassimo.

We own two Keurigs. The Keurig doesn't just do coffee, it also does hot chocolate and teas. There is also a special tea filter you can buy so if you mix your own teas you can brew them in the keurig vs. always using the specified "k-cups". We like them, I guess that is why we own two:)

Just another thing to think about... Compare prices for the pods (or whatever the Tassimo uses). I used to buy Keurig pods from Shoffee.com for $.42 each, and now they are closer to $.52 each. I guess they have a captive market now. Costco has them for around $.46, but our office likes the variety we can get online.

We use a Keurig in our office quite often. Probably 5-6 times a day. It has broken once (kept shutting off for no reason), but we returned it to Costco and got a new one no problem. Not sure if that issue has been resolved (the Costco lady said lots had been returned). I absolutely love the convenience of the Keurig at work, but I would never use it to replace my coffee brewer in the morning. The flavor is not as good. Some flavors have come close.

Supposedly, you can do iced coffee too. We use it for our tea drinker in the office as well.

Have you considered a Saeco coffee maker? When I visited my Aunt she had one and it was the most amazing coffee ever! I'm saving up to eventually purchase one. The coffee is brewed one cup at a time and you can use your own brand/grind. It can also steam milk. They're very expensive but the refurbished ones are also warrantied.
