Cleanser & Face Cream for Very Dry Skin

I have used DeCleor products for years, but am considering a change. (They are difficult to find and expensive.) I am looking for 2 things -- a cleanser that you apply & wipe off without using water to rinse, and a moisturizing cream that is thick and very hydrating. I have very dry/fair skin. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

Hi Erin- I also have dry/fair skin-- only mine is sensitive too, which is a pain. The only thing that works for me is looking for products with the least amount of chemicals possible in them. With that said, I use Kiss MY Face bar soap with olive oil (for face) and Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (for face and body). Both products are inexpensive and can probably be found anywhere-- I buy them at Whole Foods. I wear mineral powder makeup so coconut oil on my face isn't oily looking- even in the summer.

Good luck!

YUP! Renew lotion, the face wash does need water but works great! Shoot me a message, I'd love to share where to find them!

I went to a dermatologist as I was having problems. I have never been able to use soaps. He recommended Lubriderm products. (Generic are even less expensive.) I also use Cetaphil as a moisturizer. For my chapped lips nothing beats Aquaphor.

It's very important to read the ingredients. Any fragrance is out.

I have the dryest skin known to man. My kids have told me my superhero power would be to suck the moisture out of people..."dry skin girl"..LOL. Anyway I have a different recommendation to help with dry skin. After I turn the shower off, before I dry, I rub baby oil all over. I have done this for at least 25 years...someone else's mom told me about it when I was younger.
I would not be able to survive without it!!!! Now they even make baby oil that is condensed (less water) so it doesn't get all over the shower floor. First 10 years of marriage husband and kids had to be careful getting into shower! LOL but it saves my skin and me so much hassle. There are times when I still have to lotion too...usually after I shave my legs. Not your exact question...but had to put in my two cents!

Erin,
You might be interested in Enfuselle's moiturizers. Enfuselle is a very high performing line with 8 patents. The cleanser has to be used with water though. If you are interested, let me know and I will send the website.

I'll second Cetaphil. The wipe on/ dry off cleanser is heaven and the moisturizer in the tub is thick and hydrating. Living in Colorado I got the point of putting olive oil on my skin, after trying nearly everything on the market, in an effort to keep it from feeling like it was going to stretch itself to breakage. Cetaphil is what my dermatologist recommended -seriously- it's cheap compared to all the arbonnes and department store products and it frankly works better. GL!

Beauticontrol's Skinlogics Platinum. I use the set for acne: Skinlogics Clear, but I have also used the Gold set when I was pregnant because I needed more moisturizer.

I don't rinse with water, but use a wash cloth to clean my face. I know most officianados will have a cow over that one, but I hate rinsing with water....I'm soaked, the counter is soaked, my clothes are soaked....It's a pain.

Any way I love the stuff. I also like the foundation they offer.

Not sure on the cleanser, but for a moisturizer, I use simple almond oil. Its completely natural and works WONDERS on skin, leaving it soft and glowing.
Get some pure almond oil at the grocery store in the natural beauty section.
I promise you will love it!

I really like Jan Marini transformation (TGF) cream for a moisturizer. It really does hydrate. Although it is somewhat expensive (around 60 dollars for a container), it usually lasts me a year (a little goes a long way, but I don't use it every day either, would still last at least 6 mo if you used it every day). You can find it online, or through a dermatologist.

I have tried loads, from Avon, Mary Kay, Oil of Olay. BEST I ever found was Burt's Bees!!! Bought their clay mask on a whim - never went back to anything else. Fabulous stuff!

I, too, have very dry skin. I use Arbonne cleanser, but you have to rinse it off. I am sure to put on a moisturizer right after my face is washed or I leave the shower. Waiting too long dries the skin.

At night, I use olive oil on my face and I wake up looking radiant and smooth. During the day, I use oil of olay regenerist cream (most probably use it at night but because my skin is dry, it works great for me under makeup). It is not heavy and is extremely hydrating. It runs about $30 per jar and a jar lasts me about 2-3 months. I am also a huge fan of anything burts bees! I adore their body lotions and eye creams.

Good luck!

I have a recommendation for you and that is to try Votre Vu's Full Benefits (for dry skin) cleanser and day creme. Both of these products meet your criteria. I would also suggest adding in a serum because it is considered a repair product. Click on this link to read more http://www.votrevu.com/sites/sallybriar/productcatalog?pa.... Please contact me if you'd like me to send you any samples. I use this line and I was complimented multiple times this weekend about how great my skin looked. S.

Mary Kay has a timewise anti aging line for normal to dry skin and also a intense moisturizing cream that is to die for! You may also make sure you are staying hydrated with water instead of sweet drinks, soda, juice, etc...

I am currently using Aveda All Sensitive Cleanser, Toner and Moisturizer on my face and I love it. I’ve used it for 10 years now. It’s great because I can slap on some lotion in the middle of the day if I need to, and it is never oily or greasy. The cleanser does need to rinsed off, but the toner is great for a quick freshen up during the day.
