Cleaning Shoes After an "Accident."

My daughter will be 3 very soon and I have been trying to potty train her. She is doing well but had an accident last evening and the urine ran into her shoes. Please help me find a way to clean them without having to put them completely in water. She loves these shoes because they light up and will be very upset if they are broken. I am willing to try just about anything to get them safely cleaned. Thanks for the help and ideas in advance.

Ditto to the running light up shoes inthe wash light cycle. Shoes get more wet when my kids run into a deep puddle of water.

maybe pouring some baking soda into them and shaking it up, maybe brushing it in with a toothbrush would sort of neutralize everything?

I have run light up shoes and sandals through the washer on the delicate cycle, then set outside to dry. The lights still worked...

I've washed light up shoes.

I'm about to toss some shoes in the washer today for this very prolem. And she's 5. ~sigh~ Some things never change. She was too busy playing.

I sprayed them with lysol or oder eaters and then let them air out. Urine is steril, so I wasn't worried about germs or anything. Just didn't want the smell to linger :-). My son's been potty trained for almost a year, and I think we've only had wet shoes 5 or 6 times, thankfully. We've never had a problem just letting them air out.

From what I understand - the light up shoes can still be washed. I know I've put my boys shoes in the wash and the lights still worked!!

GOOD LUCK!!
