Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had any tricks to getting permanent marker out of clothes?

Also, our new house has pergo floors and I don't know what is safe to use for cleaning them?
Thanks!

What can I do next?

You might want to try Lestoil for cleaning the marker out of the clothes. Rub on and let soak for ten minutes than wash as normal. You may need to repeat.

Hope it works for you!

Hairspray works great on permanent marker :) When my daughter was just over two, she got a hold of a sharpie and sat on the floor swinging her arm back and forth making a half circle of black marker on our brand new light grey carpet... YIKES.. I think i used 2 can's of hairspray, dabbing it, and it all came out.. whew... I have also used it on clothes and back packs.. Good Luck :)

My daughter decided to color herself and her clothes with permanent marker last summer. I used baby oil to remove it from her body and put some on her clothes and scrubbed. It faded it on her body and then after a bath it was gone, and it also came out of her clothes. Try oxy clean as well I believe I put that on it also.
Regarding cleaning the floors check at a place that sells them I am sure they sell something

Good Morning A.,

Congratulations on Boy #3!!! That's great!!

A good cleaner for wood floors is Shaklee's Basic H2. Are you wanting non toxic cleaners that you won't mind your babies crawling on? Are you looking for cleaners that won't trigger asthma?

If those things, or other concerns like being economical, are intriguing to you, would you like to learn more about Shaklee's cleaning products?

warmly,
M.

My daughters first grade teacher told me about Murphy's Oil Soap. You really have to work it in (I do it with a toothbrush) and catch it quickly. It has worked for me twice and once it did not.

You can use murpys oil soap but it leaves a little film. or you can use a light spray of windex and wipe it. thats normally what i do. however, the swiffer wet pads are also safe to use. i like them they just get dry kind of quick.

A.,
you can try several things to get the marker out of the clothes. One of the things to try is rubbing alcohol. Another thing is nail polish remover.
I have used those on things other than clothes and had good results. The alcohol tends to cut the ink.
Hopefully this will help you.
Can't help with the floor issue, but the other posts sound like they have that covered pretty well.
Good luck!

I haven't found anything that gets permanent marker out of clothes - good luck.

As far as pergo floors. They do make a special cleaner, if you want to pay the big dollars (my mother in law insists on using it). However, we have found that most floor cleaners are safe for pergo floors. We've used Pine Sol, Mr. Clean for floors, basically anything. Basic tip - look at the bottle and see what it says it is safe floor. If it's safe for a laminent or vinyl tiles it will be safe for the pergo floors.

Contact Pergo and ask them. Or a hardware store, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. There should be someone who could competently answer your question. I have Pergo floors too and I use a Chlorox wet mop on it. Or something like Murphy's Oil soap might be a good idea. something that is good for wood. Like Orange Glo might be a nice smelling effective thought.

I agree, hair spray does the trick. I applied hair spray on the mark and rubbed with a bar of soap. Takes a little work but will get it out. Good luck!

Hi,
I don't know about the clothes. I don't know of anything that would work on those, but for Pergo you can try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. My son colored all over our brand new kitchen cabinets and with a little elbow grease it took the Sharpi right off, just like it was never there. It didn't hurt the surface at all.

Good luck!! Since then - he hasn't seen a Sharpi in 2 years, I hide them in my car!!!!

Try magic eraser (mr.clean brand).
It has worked amazingly on our stuff.

Hope it works. You could call the 800# on the back of the marker pack and ask them. They will likely know what works.
